Agree. Throw Storm in there as a third option to take to the tropics. Any other club should be off limits when requesting our Darwin game in the draw.

The problem with playing a team like the Storm up there is they are quality and will not mentally fold due to heat and fatigue like we have done so often in the past.

No, I think the safer bet for us as a club is to play teams that are used to the cold and most probably in most seasons have inferior rosters to us. Also they are teams that will not draw massive crowds if we played them here back home anyway, so we aren't leaving much gate revenue on the table by playing them in a Territory and a more or less neutral ground.

Also I think the Broncos or Storm for that matter if scheduled correctly would be considered block buster matches and draw in the low 20K's if not higher depending on scenarios and hype each. Not the sort of revenue we should be flick passing to a venue that would be attracting around half as much. Alternatively in most seasons the Raiders and Warriors would each draw less then 20K I would think.

Like I said, dumbest club ever.

The club didn't ask for the cowboys last year.

In fact the club were pretty pissed behind the scenes about it.

We flogged the Broncos there last time in 2021 so it shouldnt be an issue this week.

I agree though preferably we should play the Warriors up there but Anzac round up there means the Storm & Warriors are off the table as they play on Anzac Day.

Young sparrow you have much to learn.

To be honest I dont think the Mahoney thing was all just about the money. There seemed to be some want to get out and be his own player away from Gutho and Moses.

Papali'i was obviously all about the money.
It does sound like Mahoney wanted to explore an expanded role but then it sounded like he was blaming BA, Moses and Gutho for it. That just sounds petty under circumstances.

Let's take away a possible sell out at home and our home ground advantage. MORONS
You take the Warriors or Canberra there

For anyone concerned about how badly we do when we play in Darwin and mentally fold due to heat and fatigue:

Total Games: 8
Win/Loss %: 6/2 75%
Total For: 148 (90 of those in the 2nd half)
Total Against: 129 (52 of those in the 2nd half)

Oh and by the way, which bright spark at our club thinks that playing the Broncos or any QLD team up in Darwin is a great idea?

There is only one or maybe two teams that we should be playing in the tropics if we still think that it is a good idea to do so and that is the Canberra Raiders who play regular footy in frigid weather and maybe the Warriors do likewise and who would both have very little support up north. End of.

Dumbest club ever.

I hate to break your guys assumption you’re the world’s smartest men but the NRL wants us to take a QLD team there due to travel times. They definitely don’t want to send the Warriors there.

Doesn't even include the prelim final last year in Townsville which was probably just as bad as Darwin is right now.

Cowboys had 33 tackles to 7 inside 20m that night yet we still won.

Also I love how we go from “soft underbelly/easy draw” to complaining about a slight disadvantage.

We need to improve our completion rate and hit & stick.

The Broncos are a good side, but the Tits missed 40 tackles last week. Even in our most dogshit weeks this year we have only missed high 20's.

Good on the Broncos, they are on a roll and deserve success and had good wins vs Pennys and Dolphins. They also had wins agains some shitty teams like scrappy Cows, Dragons, Tigers and Tits. They dropped a game vs Raiders two weeks ago. Form side of the comp ? Are they ?
not sure about form side but to put in context, with a bit of luck Parra could have won games against Storm, Manly and Sharks and been top of the table as well

In that case can't they just re-locate a shit team to Katherine, or Jabiru, like the Tigers, and we could play them there??

Get on with it Abdo and V'Landys

I dont know what it is with Parra games but Vossy is so irritating, him and Roach, they seem to go on about the smallest thing like yesterday and disagree with the obvious thing, like when Moses was impeded Voss was certain it was a try. Mate read the bloody rule book, you cant take out a defender, simple as. Roach probably didnt have a clue. These guys need glasses.

Also Ennis is so over excited about certain teams, you would think Cleary's field goal was the best thing in the game, yet Gamble's field goal was a lot better. Ennis said nothing about it.

Its hard to listen to commentators nowadays, not like the old Ch 9 and Fox sports days.
I can't stand Voss. Tries soooo hard to build the game up and be humorous. Just call the bloody game ffs.
