I suspect it's more difficult to back up 6 days later from Darwin in April, than it would be to back up 8 days later from Townsville in September.

Makes a mockery of the Townsville heat theory from the shit house Grand Final performance.

I suspect we lost the GF because we were just shithouse, not because we had to play in Townsville the week before
And wasn't the Townsville heat GF excuse merely a Pou-only theory? In other words just some made up bs with a tangential stat thrown in..

Other than rain, Darwin and Townsville basically don’t change climate for 12 months of the year

That isn't true about Townsville or Cairns. @Gary Gutful should be able to confirm that Cairns (and I suspect Townsville) are vastly different conditions in January to what they are in July.

However, there is only a marginal difference with Darwin, compared to those two, from my experience anyway.

A seven game sample against a wide variety of regular season opponents (many of them early season when upsets abound) doesn't make a mockery of anything. And don't forget Gould made an accurate prediction about the impact of playing in the tropics. Ultimately we are dealing with statistically small samples, but it's not a theory you should discount based on a 57% win rate across seven random opponents.

By the time we got to the GF we were spent. The way we play a power game with only two quality front rowers virtually guarantees that to be the case.
Except they went well in every other finals match before that, since 2020, including two against Penrith. Maybe they magically hit the wall after the preliminary final?

I lived in Townsville. Definitely gets 'cold' in winter. At least if you live there it feels cold.

And yet we are constantly being told AFL is by far the most popular code in the country
Most of that is from AFL house, they Bullshitted and said every Magic round was sold out which was a total lie. The dodgiest organisation in the country.

Why does darwin get hotter in april?
Being located in the northern part of Australia, Darwin experiences a transition from the wet season to the dry season in April. The temperature starts to rise as the dry season sets in, and the humidity decreases. This results in hotter weather and more sunny days.

Let's not pull our dicky birds any longer. The grand final was over in the first 20mins. If it come down to the last 25 and we tired I would blame fatigue but no not the first 20mins.

Remember these blokes are all PARRA FIT

good question

in the wet, or what we refer to as summer, there is a lot of water (moisture) in the air, or what we refer to as humidity

It takes a lot more of the sun's irradiation energy to increase the temperature of say, 1 cubic metre of air when it contains a lot of moisture

as we move into the dry season or our winter, the humidity drops and the air becomes dryer and so the sun's energy is able to make the air reach a higher temperature as it contains less water, this only happens to zones that are near the equator as there is still much energy generated by the sun in months like April
