The bottom line: our structured style of play is too one-dimensional, and with the implementation of the new rules this year, those teams that rely heavily on structured play (e.g. Roosters, Storm) are no where near as dominant as they were last year. Given we haven't be playing anywhere near as well as the Roosters or Storm, we are being painfully exposed by our opponents.

In fact, our structured style of play - which we have had since Bennett came to Newcastle - simply isn't working. We need to improvise more like we did under Brian Smith and Stone. With far less talent than we now have, we played a far more exciting, attacking brand of football. Smith - who did the dirty work for us and cleaned out all the dead wood - must be furious he had less than half the amount of talent that Bennett has had to work with.

Did you guys hear that!?!? We have the best completion rate and lowest points scored in the past month.

That right there Wayne. THAT. What are you doing about it?

This and only this. Until it changes there is no point hoping for a win. Been saying it for ages. How does our tough experienced pack look now? Useless.

We're missing 5 first graders from the pack at the moment. A lot of the guys on the field wouldn't make first grade at any other club.

What style of football does suit these plodders? There is no style of football that makes the likes of Houston a viable first grader. Imagine what Leilua would be f**king up if he had a license to 'dazzle'. What style of football would make Darius put in for 80 minutes?

The players are f**ked. There a few blokes that do their job week in, week out... The rest of them are just total pretenders.

Yes, we can keep making excuses about injuries. However, our key players - the spine (1,6,7,9) - are all there. Wait till Origin comes around, Darius Boyd gets picked, and look at how much more effort he puts into his runs for QLD compared to the Knights (like he did last year).

Lack of talent is definitely not the reason why we suck. We have the talent, but the plans and style of footy simply aren't working...yet supercoach Bennett is one of the only few who still can't see that the formula he's been applying hasn't been working here.

Answer = we are being coached to play a style of football which clearly doesn't suit us, and suit the way Knights fans have known the way their team have naturally played their footy in the past.

If the stat about us having the best completions in the comp on a losing streak where we can barely score a try doesn't help Wayne or anyone else understand, then they never will.

Seriously BJ is playing so so bad today. Two random throw aways of the ball that result in trys both times, gets taken over the line twice once when he should of passed and possibly had mcmanus over in the corner and the other time coming out of our own end. Then that pass thrown over the sideline, my god hes playing bad.

Wayne can't catch the dropped balls, either. Our ball control has been absolutely pathetic today. Our spine can't do much about it when we don't have the ball for more than 1 or 2 tackles.

I agree with you re:Houston. However, several of the players that are in our squad were there during 2007-11 when Smithy and Stone were at the helm, and playing our natural game, we were able to produce some great, memorable wins and more importantly, we never gave up. I'm not so much talking about individual performances as much as how well we gelled as a side on the field with the limited talent around (compared to the resources Wayne has). We rarely meekly capitulated the way we did under Michael Hagan when Joey wasn't there, and we produced several wins from behind that we would've never accomplished under Hagan. The belief was still there.

And heres the thing that gets me....Clydesdale is penalised for an accidental crusher tackle but Wallace isn't for an accidental boot to the face.
