Put simms in for costigan and that bench looks pretty good. Mullens a huge loss. Having said that I've felt for a long time that 5/8 would be gidleys second most suited position.

So no Buderus, Smith, Scott or Mullen for this match. That's a lot of quality on the sidelines. Costigan in instead of Sims seems like madness at this point. He has looked really good in his appearances thus far. I trust that it's just a team-naming thing, and that Sims is, in fact, pencilled in well above Costigan.

With the continued use of Gidley as a playmaker and Costigan as a player at all, I'm starting to think that the Wayne Bennett magic isn't all it was cracked up to be.

The apparent dysfunction that the Knights seem to always experience will even manage to bring down the great Wayne Bennet...I'am sure his physical and mental age has increased greatly since arriving here....

We are such a basket case. We are just lucky we had Andrew Johns. Without him we would have been a laughing stock for 25 years.

Sims has been 18th man for the last few weeks and has still been starting over Costigan so I wouldn't let their numbers worry you.

On the field Johns was great but he always knew how to find the wrong type of publicity. It sort of highlights the dysfunctional nature of the club...of course Johns being Johns can find a negative headline...even as an Immortal he can't keep his head down....lol:crazy:

Interesting how his old mate Singleton and Robo are quick to lay the boot in....lol

We certainly wouldn't have won any premierships without him. We'd be just another middle of the table club.

Any team without their 4 best players would struggle... Imagine the Storm without Slater, Cronk, Smith and Hoffman...

If we win this without Mullen, Buderus, Smith and Scott, it'd be great. A really fortunate 2 points but I wouldn't be too suicidal if we lost.

Gids' 200th game. He might have a big one....or he might try to do too much and stuff things up.

Just on us vs Raiders, tonight fox showed our match against them from 2001 (where Finch gave us a penalty from the dropout at the end for us to win our 1st game in Canb). Really noticeable how much more open the game was back then. Lots of metres and deep ball running. Wish fox would show more of our games from Joeys prime, this one wasn't the best from him.

P.S ahhhh remember the Knight Ryder, Kennedy, young Tahu, Rudd...errr never mind. Those were the days.

Aw man, that game was a classic. I remember listening to the coverage on the radio and then staying up late to video it on NBN. Finch's tears were like mother-f**king champagne to me.

I genuinely can't pick a winner for this one, both us and the raiders are so inconsistent every season. We could have half our team out of action and still thrash them or we could have our full roster available and go down by 50, it's that kind of game. I'm probably leaning towards the raiders on their home record against us but I think we have won a couple down there in the last few years so maybe the old hoodoo doesn't hold that same aura anymore. I can see why the raiders are favourites for this one but a cheeky bet on the knights wouldn't be a bad idea

Paul Kent put us as his "specials" of the weekend on NRL 360 last night

Make no mistake, this is the Raiders game to lose.

We have big influential players out. They have Campese back on deck and are high on confidence after beating the Storm and are playing at home.

If we win, it'll be great.

Really not counting on it though.

All depends really if Thompson and Papalli are late inclusions I think its going to be very hard for the knights to get up especially with Mullen out.

The raiders have won all 3 home games so far this season.

We'd won all of our home games up until last weekend too, then we lost to a Sharks side without their best player.

I honestly think we'll push them and either fall short or fall over the line. There wont be any blowouts
