whats our lineup going to be assuming we do sign bateman by all reports? With Muarry out for apparantly a little while, with also Bateman taking the last top 30 spot? or which players are on the supplementry list?

very very light on hard nosed props. I think at this stage Lodge and Brendan Smith are musts and we must release players like: Host, Haivili, Lovett, Le Blanc and Shaq Mitchell so Bennet can have a real tilt in 2026. As i believe 2025 will be a transition year to get the squad that he wants for 2026 and 2027.

At this stage Myers and Le Blanc aren’t top 30 they’re development contracts.

This week at training Pistol Pete has been training at starting 9 in opposed sessions I think he will get first go at hooker considering he was the incumbent.

If it's a case of Bateman or Lodge, I think we need Lodge's size more than what Bateman offers. They both offer mongrel but we need punch through the middle first and foremost. Lodge would cost much less and leave enough in the kitty for perhaps another signing but unlikely enough for Bateman. Maybe save the remaining cap space for a mid-season signing option.

Just listening to Chammas on that listnr podcast the other day he said in it he’s hearing Tatola won’t be ready to start the year. Really that’s no shock to us I don’t think as we weren’t expecting Tatola to be ready to start the year after having been in the moon boot 7 months and needing to train himself on how to even walk again

Just listening to Chammas on that listnr podcast the other day he said in it he’s hearing Tatola won’t be ready to start the year. Really that’s no shock to us I don’t think as we weren’t expecting Tatola to be ready to start the year after having been in the moon boot 7 months and needing to train himself on how to even walk again

For me that makes the lodge signing even more important. Our depth really concerned me last year and I think it showed in our final position. Moale is really going to have to step up.

Why would we take smith next year? Even if his knee is good for him to play it will take him a couple of months to fitten up,id say 26 and i wouldnt pay more than 500k ilias was on 500k id say and hope we chipped in 100k
So we freed up 400k plus what we has in the hand

If we can land both Lodge and Bateman, then great. Smith by the backend of the year could well come out of the 2026 cap maybe? so quite feasible we could slot him in as an x-factor player as we charge into the finals!
