Sorry boys,i find myself a little depressed, 4 players out for an extended period, no props purchased, and no anouncments on resignings, i know there isnt much on the market as far as props, but because our scout system is nonexistent we havent even tried for lower grade talent, i really dont expect much next season, and the expose by the dolphins that under woolf the fitness training has escalated hasnt inspired any confidence that we are putting in the hard yards.

im abit the same like you
once again going to be a long 2025.

as i stated before bennet will be trying to get a team ready for the 2026 and 2027 title shots, next year is about organising his salary cap for those years.

The way I see it is our overriding problem last year was halfback. If our new Pommy #7 solves that problem then I think we're back in business. Yes there is a couple of other areas we could improve but like I said our lack of a quality halfback is what really hamstrung us last season.

One of our many problems was the lack of speed in our backs, we would have to have had the slowest of all teams, which is why taane was let go,for all his go forward and willingness to do the hard yards ,he is slow, how has this been fixed for next year?

Injuries to our speedsters was the main reason. We have AJ, Munro and Mellars who are all noted speedsters on the wings. Jack and Campbell in the centres are no slouches either. We just need to have better luck keeping these blokes on the field. Otherwise, the back ups are not quite so swift. Mellars will be a speedy depth player when AJ is back providing both he and Munro are able to stay healthy for most of the season. It will make a huge difference.

Same with our issues up front - if we can keep our main men available for selection week in, week out, it battle hardens them and improves their form which allows the rest of the team to play off the back of that. Fingers crossed Tatola makes it back and gets back to his best early in the season.

Fingers crossed we don't get flogged and whipped again by the injury witch next season - she owes us a couple of good years after what she dished out in '24.

p.s. AJ, when he returns, will still be quick enough, even if he has lost a yard or so. More than that, he is perfectly honed to position himself to take those difficult long balls from Cody and Latrell like few others can just from playing outside them over the years and it is that, more than just sheer speed, that has netted him the flood of tries he has scored at Souths. He is a must to play on the left wing again when he returns because of his beautifully refined combo with our playmakers and that combo is what will make our left edge great again.
