You're absolutely correct speedster. but from the reports on these guys I would be stoked if we took a punt on one or both of them.
Maybe. But Dogs ain't exactly flush for props even with the signing of Thompson (who has a lot of hype to live up to now) and yet Gould is letting these blokes walk out the door.

I wouldn't sweat it.

Roosters have that huge De La Salle kid that debuted against us. He's one to watch. Meanwhile, I am wondering what is happening with this young Jordan Miller kid who was sacked by the Tigers for lateness and is suing them. He is not little.

handy, these kids are junior prospects not yet ready for 1st grade, We have picked up a few of these ourselves in the front row. 1 young kid from the Storm system several months ago and 2 youngsters announced last week from the Blackhawks system. We picked up Jason Hallie last year and he didn't set the world on fire in Ball and Flegg but we'll see what he brings this year.

For every one that makes it at NRL level, there's 2 that don't.
Speedy if we look at it this way we wouldnt buy any youngsters

From another Souths forum this guy saying he’s heard the club at this stage don’t see Jye Gray as a half.

“the thinking is that he is too small to play in the front line and will get constantly targetted.
Heart is not an issue - physicality is
Needs also to develop a passing game to set up his outside players”

Then goes along the lines of saying we see him as our back up FB only currently.

Another post I came across was

“Biondi Odo and Sullivan were both training with the halves boys yesterday.

Agree about Biondi Odo, deserved to be retained in the squad.

Got to listen to Bennett regail the boys yesterday with some quick Cliff Lyons and Lockyer stories and insights in amongst the more technical stuff he wanted them to be learning. Very hands on, and entertaining.”

Others saying nearly all the Blackhawks players have gone back but Biondi Odo hasn’t makes me wonder if we will give him the last development spot!

From another poster

“Today training looked pretty intensive contact”

From another Souths site re yesterday training the one above was today training……

“I was there today mate. Campbell was there and he spent probably 45 mins doing conditioning work before leaving.

The session was 2 hours. Then there was some extras for the halves with some basic kicking for 15mins or so. Trell did some goal kicking and was last to leave the ground.

Wayne was very vocal and in everything as was Sutto and Hornby.

I thought Dodd looked good in the ball work with Cody. Trell was average. Sloppy passes and at times back to back errors.

Schuester did the conditioning work with the forwards. He looked a bit heavy to me. Looks a different man when the ball comes out.

I thought Josh looked good in the forwards ball work session and his silky hands looked like what we know he is capable of.

A lot of the forwards opposed ball work session concentrated on markers D. Wayne was very vocal. Boys had to do 20 push ups if the markers work was not up to scratch or there was a dumb error.

Jamie and Pete played DH on each. I must say Jamie has some work on passing off the ground. I thought he was pretty sloppy.

Jai did everything but looks very ginger. He still had a rehab shirt on.

Junior got smashed on the bikes. Good to see him back. Aitken didn’t have a brace or anything. Got smashed on the bikes also.

Thought the session had a fair bit of intensity and a good blow out after the break.

Best part no one had their dog there.”

Also another poster is adamant on what they’ve heard from someone in the know is that Aitken is likely to be good for round 1. Make of that what you will.

Certainly some great insights there Trell being sloppy and Humphreys passing off the ground needing a fair bit of work sound like 2 negatives though they’ll both have to work to be being better than that. First day back so probs shouldn’t read too much into it. Defs sounds like it was an intense session and it was very hot in Sydney yesterday

“Both Humphries and Mamouzelos ran as hookers today, I honestly thought Humphries looked to have the edge, wouldn’t be surprised if he has his nose in front. Was getting out of dummy half better and his choice of pass really added something, knows when to throw the right longer ball.”

With regards to Jye Gray, FB is definitely his best position. It's just a case of is he worth keeping just to use him when Trell is out injured or during Origin.

He will get trampled and severe concussions in the front line mate he’s only my height 170cm. That size is an issue sadly.

In first grade at FB has not shown a passing game yet

Great posts by all here if we were to win the big one sooner than later mamouzelous cant be our #9 period some may agree to disagree.whatever clown upgraded mamouzelos to 3 more years should be sacked immediately bluuuudy clown..this is what I hate about souths we accumulate reserve grade players in abundance why who knows its down right idiotic recruitment practices please souths stop this lunacy ie: jaxson paulo + lachlan ilias (twin duds) and mamouzelos aint much better wake up souths!!!!!
