We wont know if we dont give him a go,they said that about that broncos half who just got replaced as the trainer, whats his name? I wouldnt assume id give him a go,and thats how we lost taafe,he was in my opinion a really good 6/7 but we never gave him a go
Gray is the new Taffe. And where’s Taffe now. He never kicked on . Hasn’t played much first grade since leaving. Was he injured at the Dogs?

Taafe was a good and sometimes brilliant half in the lower grades, we destroyed him by playing him out of position, now its poor jyes turn, he isnt a fullback and he played great at 6

Jye Gray has an immediate future as a bench utility imo. He needs to train in all 4 spine positions to be able to cover all 4 if needed in a game but also can play as an extra spine member when we want some x factor late in a game.

What his longer term future holds as far as a regular starting spot is, I'm not sure. But the old, "too small" excuse has been made before on guys like Langer (as handy mentioned) and also Preston Campbell. Even skinny Byrne got rissolled from our club for that reason and went on to play a GF and score plenty of tries in a solid 1st grade career.

If you're good enough, you're big enough.

A team of champions is not a champion team

Penrith developed an aura based on the right players coming together and complementing each other

yes, you do have to be skilful but the team can always be better than the sum of their parts if they are willing to work for each other

And Hawko was player of the year in Reggie’s
But!! We gave him a go and he didnt measure up, so no team wants players who cant step up, virtually proffessional reserve grade players, so we finally bit the bullet and moved him on.
But we didnt give taafe a chance and it looks like were not giving jye a chance, instead of manufacturing a winger or centre for backup fullback we take an electric shortie half and expect a miracle, its wrong!!

From another Souths forum

“Aitken’s cleanup uncovered complications from a previous shoulder injury that will delay his recovery.

Tatola has no lingering pain but will be brought on slowly due to the nature of this injury for such a big man.

Arrow still looks a bit ginger. He, like Murray, probably need to be held back so that they don’t exacerbate their issues by going too hard too early.

Cody sat out today but it might only be load management”

From another poster..

“Best session I have seen in a long time. Antonelli and Elkin were really ripping into them. Didn’t accept slacking (although Latrell died in the arse later in the session)
Loved the contact work doubling up on tackles that they did at the end. Was some serious contact.”
