BIG NEWS OUT OF THE DRAGONS St George Illawarra have agreed to hand veteran prop Matt Lodge a 2025 lifeline with a train-and-trial contract. He could be at training as early as next week in a bid to fight for a NRL top 30 contract.

Shane Flanagan met with Lodge in July after identifying a need to add depth in his pack. Lodge will earn just $1200 a week with the aim of converting the stint into a full-time deal. Should that materialise it would be his sixth NRL club.

For what? It's all rumours, innuendo and hearsay anyway you can't really know until the club announcements come out. I hope we do sign Lodge but I'm sure other supporters feel differently. With the rumours about Aitken, Murray, Tatola not being ready for round 1 having a prop with a few games under his belt is invaluable to help out Moale.

“That backing up from Dodd took my eye today, he’s quick off the mark to make himself available, a good sense for it.

We have some really quick between the ears skilful players and sometimes I feel he gets overshadowed in that way, in the high speed touch football type games, he doesn’t quite do the brilliant off the cuff individual stuff Cody, Sullivan, Gray etc do but he was all voice today, looks like he knows the 7 jobs his and seems a real pro. I’ll get haters for saying this but I reckon I saw him do twice the amount of clever short kicks today than I saw Ilias do in his whole time at Souths.”

Talking about duds once the nrl has 20 teams the game will end up being a dud of a game (hollow with no feeling) here's why.. (nrl equals super league)..
Once 20 teams is achieved then only the top 10 teams ( the strongest 10 teams ) will play off for the nrl's div1 grand final the same as in English soccor div1 + div2 thats the nrl's big picture..the other 10 teams which will be div2 will be worthless they'll play off for the div2 dud trophy..just like one of ABBA'S hit singles money money money..get ready everyone its coming!!
