Your right you are just wishing for smith and you know what they say about wishes if you put your wishes in your right hand and shit in the left hand you know which one one will fill first
Are you implying my logic is biased? I'd be saying the same thing even if I didn't want Smith to come. Just because any player says he's keen and then circumstances change and so he changes his mind before it's too late, doesn't mean he's done any wrong whatsoever.

Has humphreys ever played in the nrl as a hooker and when he played for manly how far back was he in the hooker pecking order
He has played 1 first grade game where he started at halfback and went into hooker during parts of the game. He went really well but he is a half that was trained at hooker over there last summer and was touted as possibly getting a run there. He has very good potential. A lot of good halves make excellent dummy halves these days since they don't have to actually hook for the ball no more. 😉

The rorters have a strict no dickhead no disrupting the other players and causing trouble, smith is a cancer who disrupted the group, yes bring him and pay the price and you know what he will have trouble finding a team at his price,he is a 400k and expect trouble player

p.s. what if you're left handed?
Then you would be sinister (Latin for left-handed). I'm proud to say that I'm sinister in that I'm left-handed. I'm actually a Larry Bird Lefty as just like the all-time great NBA player I write with my left hand and kick with my left foot but basketball and baseball I play right-handed. It's called cross dominance and it's pretty rare.

I'm right hand dominant but kick left footed. I can kick okay with my right and play left hand table tennis surprisingly well but can't write with my left hand to save my life. I guess we're both pretty rare birds.

If the Roosters had a no dickhead policy, they'd have no players at all! 🤣

They knew what his personality was like when they bought him. They also know he's a premiership winner and a quality Test footballer in the right environment. He didn't fit their culture because Robbo is a straight laced, red faced karen. Wayne, on the other hand, is the coolest of cats and can bring the best out in any player. Smith hasn't committed any crimes or ruined his team mates who made a prelim and went pretty well other than against the Grand Finalists last year with him there.

If we can squeeze him in and we're in the running for the finals half way through the year, he would only improve our chances in the back half of the season. He's an Alfie Langer type personality that Wayne really clicks with.

Right enough about that. We won't be changing each others' minds about him. Some love him, some hate him and we will have to wait months before we see what happens with him.

Cheers

on a lighter note.

Souths Sg Ball team.

Some good young players coming through. Finally good to see them investing in some youth.

The players that i would take from this team

1. Yasin Kuscu- a good fullback who scored a try but could have scored another 2 more, high workrate, nippy, and fast. Maybe a touch on the small side. Been told he is earmarked for flegg after sg season.

7. Matt Humphries- Man of the match for me scored the first 2 tries, set up the third, can tell he had a preseason with first grade, will only get better young boy.

10. Johannes Logans- (mind the spelling) i think the best of the bunch a no nonsense type prop big fit strong, good motor and doesnt back down reallyt impressed. Mind you have other clubs lurking, Newtown Jets feeder to conulla are looking at signing him for this year to play reserve grade. CANNOT LOSE THIS BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

15. Elijah keung-Was held out of the starting team by another signing Maddax Fui who i didnt rate, and Johannes. But came on and done his job. Big strong powerfull ball runner, looks to have trained hard and put on some size with the first grade squad. Just was abit out of place going back down to SG ball didnt know the team and chemistry but will get better and start next week.

Honorable Mentions-

12. Kaea Matthews- a signing made from NZ, good line runner and played 80 mins defended well, just didnt have any opportunities down his side. But a player you can definatly work with.

South Sydney Rabbitohs captain Cameron Murray cleared for Round 1, Cody Walker racing the clock
Two South Sydney superstars are set to complete miracle returns from injury to line up in the Rabbitohs’ first pre-season trial - but the news isn’t as good for Cody Walker.

South Sydney star Cody Walker is racing the clock to be fit for Round 1 but coach Wayne Bennett is set to receive a huge boost for the season opener after skipper Cameron Murray was cleared to take the field.

It comes as star centre Campbell Graham edges closer to making a return for the Rabbitohs’ opener against the Dolphins on March 7 after a pre-season injury mishap.

It’s understood Walker suffered a calf injury at training earlier in mid-January.

The veteran playmaker had already made himself unavailable for the All Stars clash on February 15 but now is also unlikely to be available for the Rabbitohs’ trial matches against Manly and the Dragons.

It’s understood Walker has been training separately to the main squad since suffering the calf injury but will be given every opportunity to be declared fit for the Dolphins clash.

Medical staff are quietly confident Walker’s rehabilitation is tracking well.

But in a boost to South Sydney’s campaign, star forward Murray has been given the green light to line-up against Bennett’s former side the Dolphins.

Murray, who required surgery for a wrist injury suffered in Kangaroos camp, was only a 50/50 proposition to be available for the opening rounds of the season.

But the Bunnies captain has since been given the green light by medical staff.

In another boost, Graham is also rated as a solid chance of taking the field against the Dolphins after suffering a broken hand at training only last week.

It’s understood Graham met with specialists last week, when it was determined the 25-year-old did not require surgery to repair his broken hand.

He was initially expected to miss between up to six weeks but avoiding going under the knife has boosted his round one chances with medical staff also confident he will be available for selection.

Graham hasn’t played for over 500 days with a sternum injury ruling out the experienced centre for the 2024 season.

If Walker does not get a clean bill of health in the coming weeks, former Wests Tigers playmaker Jayden Sullivan is believed to be the front runner to replace Walker alongside Englishman Lewis Dodd in the halves.

Bennett also has halves options in Jamie Humphreys and Jack Wighton, who is expected to start the season at centre.

Superstar fullback Latrell Mitchell’s one week ban for the white powder incident will be served in the coming All Stars match, paving the way for his Round 1 return.

Maroons forward Jai Arrow has also overcome a shoulder injury and is set to get a run in the trials ahead of the season opener.

New recruit Euan Aitken will miss the first month of the season with a pectoral issue, while star Alex Johnston is unlikely to be rushed back from an Achillies injury.
