Just thinking ahead to roosters game if AJ is out injured I hope they keep gray at fullback move Tass to wing and bring trell back as centre so we have our best 13 available players in the run on side

i hope so but i dont think it will happen.

Ive been a massive AJ doubter for the last 2-3 years however, his positional, his defence and the way he has an understanding to be in the right position when attacking has really caught my eye.

its going to be tough picking next weeks 13 with Hubner also returning but if i was the coach i would do exactly what was said above and bring latrell in centres.

Can everyone imagine grey coming on after the first 20m of play when fatigue is starting with his nippy darting he should be able to disrupt defences, he will be a bigger impact

Agree with Eric. Jye is too good a player not to be in the top 13. You find a way to get him in the starting side.

Gray should,& probably will be at No.14 on Latrell's return---he's a great fit as a fresh player to take advantage of tiring defences---he can play FB ,5/8 ,1/2 & would be dazzling as a No. 9 benchie against struggling ,tiring defences---at a pinch he could play wing or centre too--he's such a goer you could stick him in the forwards & he would give it a real crack !!

I just feel Jye is every bit as dangerous against fresh defenses as he is against tired defenses. He needs to be on the field as long as possible.

The only reason you don't have one of your most dangerous players on the field for every minute is if he lacks the fitness to play a full 80. Thats not Jye so you play him from go to whoa.

Gray is definitely starring for us & is a top little player---he will perform at a high standard as an 80 minute player-- he has proven that---he is v/good against fresh defences but against tiring defences he could be devastating---he is a Q/lander[an ex Bronco] so he will be well sought after by north of the border teams like the Cowboys,G/Coast ,the Dolphins & even the Broncos--we certainly need to be encouraging him to stay a rabbit by giving him a fair go---Latrell will be FB as long as he is with Sths, so that,unfortunately,forces Gray to the bench--this not necessarily bad for him[or us] as it allows him to shine in a spectacular fashion from the bench--it could enhance his rep chance too[for QLD].

What if Jye wants to be a starter and playing him off the bench means he may look to go to one of those Qld teams to get that opportunity. I can't think there are too many players that would choose being a bench player over being a starter.

Using the precondition that Bennett said Latrell is the FB, end of story, I agree with this, except I'd put in Leblanc instead of Havili.

I'm still looking at an upgrade for Myers but I can't see one.

Myers is good under the high ball and has more speed than Tass who is best suited to centre, especially while Campbell is out.

Jye Gray will be dynamite coming off the bench. It's a 17 man team nowadays and playing off the bench should no longer be seen as a demotion. It's about what is the best combination and mix to win the game.

The other great thing I see about shifting Gray to 14 is to give him the chance to play elsewhere other than fullback where he has only played in the top grade. He is a 5/8 who can play in multiple positions and I don't want to see him stuck permanently at fullback only where his skills and experience in other positions wither away from lack of exposure there - like Taaffe.

Jye's game will evolve more playing a utility and game breaking role in different positions and his stocks will rise accordingly if he proves a match winner doing that on top of being a brilliant fullback. He is more than just a fullback - that's how good he is. An X-factor that could supercharge this team into the finals.

It's about winning games. I'm getting more excited about our prospects for this season by the week.

Jack Wighton has struggled out in the centres in our side and I think a large part of that is because of all the injuries and missed games to most of our left side attack. He will be very good for us out there once he has played enough games with our main guys around him to combine with him.

That means Cody at 6, Latrell at 1, Keaon (who has switched to the left this season) and AJ all being there so he gets used to being part of that left side attack the same way Gagai did a few seasons ago.

With Latrell returning and reigniting his combination with Cody from the back, it will create more genuine attacking opportunities for Jack to get in sync with and that combination building into the season with hopefully no more bloody injuries or suspensions will get tight and more lethal as the season goes on.

Meanwhile, he really must get his defence in order out there. They say centre is the hardest place to defend because of the greater space to cover at speed. But his contact has been poor at times and he looks to get wrong footed a fair bit. I remember Gagai having defensive issues for a while until Wayne shifted him to his less preferred side on the left and surprisingly, it was not only not a disaster as many feared but he was solid. I wonder how Jack would go on the right?

Can anyone imagine any other side in the nrl with the amount of injuries to there outside backs take there best player over the last 4 weeks and sit him on the bench it weakens the side you try and fit that person into the run on squad you always try and put the best 13 available players on the field I know once we get troops back he will be our 14 I would like to see him in our run on side be it fullback or outside back
