Mixed feelings for mine. On the one hand, Lachy simply isn't good enough to be top flight first grade half and if this is how he and Anasta respond to what's been happening, then he can go. However, I still think he's as good a backup half as you'd get, and I'd love to see how he goes under a new coach which makes me want him to stay.

I guess I don't mind either way really.

True. Unless anyone is chasing Hawkins, he may well be content to stay and play Cup. The Panthers and Broncos have done really well in identifying quality halves in the 2nd grade or OS and having them sit behind their main man. We would have scoffed at a signing like Schneider last year or Madden or Cogger 2 years ago, O'Sullivan before that but they have done a great job in great systems filling in for the superstars. You have to have good scouts that understand exactly what the coach is looking for in a backup. Some of these players don't come of age until the second half of their careers being journeymen.

Currently, Tom Weaver and Toby Sexton come to mind.

With due respect Mr Callmack ilias is in no way a good back up half back in any sense of the imagination why you would want him to stay beggars belief. dont let your heart rule your head i am just stating my beliefs as you have your beliefs too about ilias.lachlan ilias is a dud he is the worst half back I've ever seen play first grade since I was a toddler during the early 60's.im not having a go at you even some of my souths mates say oh he is young give him time what about Sam walker whom is 2 yrs younger does Sam need time he has never needed time.time won't help ilias even bennett can't help ilias not even God could help ilias and im non religious. .. ile be ecstatic once dudmetriou + ilias get sacked even though ilias can seek a new club hip hip hooray.

Speedster Things are moving fast becoz I reckon memberships are plummeting thats my guess.souths are now desperate becoz they realise letting reyno go and ilias is a dud and our coach is a dud the penny has finally fallen but its too late in 2024 how dumb was souths.come home Sam come back bennett souths need you both asap we are coming last on the ladder and that's as bad as it gets.

Why would Wayne come to a club that pretty much needs a complete rebuild?
he could go to Parra, where they have a vgood half, a decent FB, reasonable centres and a better forward pack than ours, that just needs tweaking, not wholesale dumping.
My call is Wayne passes on us.
