Disappointing to hear about Pangi Jnr if that's true.

Why NRL coaches are set to back official trade periods: https://www.nrl.com/news/2018/11/19/why-nrl-coaches-are-set-to-back-official-trade-periods/

South Sydney Rabbitohs star Damien Cook being hunted by three rival clubs, reports

The race for South Sydney rake Damien Cook is heating up as three rival NRL clubs reportedly circle the incumbent NSW Blues and Australia hooker.

According to Daily Telegraph reporter Dean Ritchie, two Sydney teams and an unconfirmed interstate suitor – believed to be the Brisbane Broncos – are interested in the 27-year-old.

Cook comes off contract at the end of 2019.

He is among the most in-demand players on the market after transforming from fringe first-grader to Origin and Test star in 2018.

It is understood the Bunnies have offered the No.9 a lucrative multi-year extension but he has been hesitant to recommit due to the uncertainty over the Rabbitohs’ coaching situation.

Brisbane Broncos coach Wayne Bennett has signed a three-year deal with South Sydney from 2020.

Incumbent Bunnies boss Anthony Seibold has inked a four-year contract to succeed Bennett at the Broncos.

The farcical coaching situation is set to come to a head this week, with Bennett scheduled to return to Broncos pre-season training on Wednesday after overseeing England’s Test series against New Zealand.

It has been widely reported Bennett and Seibold will swap jobs before the start of the 2019 campaign – as early as this week.

The uncertainty has cast doubt over the futures of several star players from both clubs, with reports Broncos duo Matt Lodge and Tevita Pangai Junior could follow Bennett to Redfern.

Seibold’s rookie season as an NRL head coach coincided with Cook’s breakout campaign, fueling speculation he is considering defecting to Red Hill.

AJ is only on $350K - Jennings supposedly asking for more than that.
I would rather keep AJ than Jennings especially if AJ costs us less than Jennings.
But if not, where’s the extra money for a backrower coming from.
We supposedly already made pengai jun an offer so that money approx 800 id say is still available, somethings gotta give,i cant believe at least 1 bronco is not coming, bennet would be organising it,also its been reported that storm are trying to shift a couple of players to make room for smith, kasiano and kafusi being mentioned,we were after kafusi before he resigned, maybe we could accomodate him now

We were after Felise Kaufusi. Unfortunately, his brother Patrick is the one being shopped around.

Yeah, but Souths would have both Jennings money and AJ's money towards retaining Jennings if AJ left.

Crichton's money for another backrower.

Cronulla have just released holmes, bad news for us,Looks like weve lost AJ

Maybe not

https://www.nrl.com/news/2018/11/20...and-left-cronulla-sharks-in-no-win-situation/

However, a condition of his release from the remaining year of his contract with Cronulla is Holmes can only play for the Sharks if he is unsuccessful in the NFL and wants to come back to the NRL next season.

To accommodate the possible return of Holmes, the Sharks will need to leave room in their salary cap for him and his value is such the club confirmed he had been offered a five-year deal that would have made him the highest-paid player in Cronulla’s history.

The clause ensures Holmes is unable to join the Cowboys next season, as some suspected he may have been intending to do if he fails to land an NFL deal but also casts doubt about the Sharks' ability to replace him.
