Our defence was substandard this year i hope alot of work goes into that
Our defence was both best in the League and worst in the League. That's sometimes in the same half of a game. There was very little consistency in defence. It mostly appeared we only played when we had the ball. I clearly saw where and how these lapses were occurring, but I will never start pointing at individual players. But if you have a backup slide going on the left, why not the right as well? Anyway, I'm pretty sure Joe isn't a defence coach. Maybe there's a job for Sam Burgess if he can't play anymore. Or, steal the defence coach from Chooks or Storm.

View attachment 33818 I wish Souths could find another Tony
This bloke is the toughest RamRod forward I've ever seen. He didn't pump the legs and charge into open spaces then slow it down a metre from the line, he kept going like a bull. When you slow up the defence gets the advantage. If you charge straight into them, you hurt them and tire them and sooner or later they avoid you. Gaps will eventually appear.

Tony Rambling was the toughest RamRod forward I've ever seen bar none. When he ran the ball up, the defence was going to get hurt. He didn't run into open ground like a gorilla then slow down a metre from the fence line. He kept going like a charging bull. When they slow down, thats handing all the advantages to the defence. If you was in front of Tony Rambling, you was gonna get hurt. They'd soon get sick of that and shy off and that's when the gaps appeared.

Bennett backs Burgess to play despite retirement drums beating: https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/be...retirement-drums-beating-20191025-p5347o.html

So Wayne has said that Sam will be there next year. That sounds promising obviously but I must admit, I am still preparing for the worst...

Burgess can't be within 1km of father-in-law's home under AVO: https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/bu...-in-law-s-home-under-avo-20191021-p532pp.html

What an absolute joke, Sam has done nothing wrong by the sounds of it!!

It's because it's Sam Burgess. If it was Boyd Cordner, the media would be saying poor him...

Sounds like all he wanted to do was see and hold his children if this man Hook has denied him after driving all that way so excited to see his kids and not let him then he is a grub
What sort of person stops a father from seeing and holding his kids , feel so sorry for Sammy when times are tough seeing and being with and feeling the love of your children is the only thing that can soothe that sadness

Peobies father, Captain Hook is a mongrel and now I can see where she gets her stupid ideas from.
Denying a father ( or mother ) from seeing and spending time with their kids is in my opinion one of the cruelest and lowest acts ever
For many many separated dads seeing their kids is the only thing they have to keep them going unfortunately so many can’t cope with the sadness of being denied they suicidal which in turn the really affects the kids
Only scum deny children from seeing their dads

Yep, that describes Hook alright.

There's always 2 sides to these stories and as was seen last year, Burgess was no angel in this.

Better to just ignore it.

My issue is if it impacts his form and he separated last year during the finals series as well and it certainly contributed to his lack of form in the finals especially against Easts.

I agree to an extent. But the court release said Sam got upset when his father in law refused to allow Sam to see his children. I think I'd get upset too and so too the judge who heard the case. There was no threat of violence and no one was assaulted. If anything, I believe the father in law should have been heavily reprimanded for not allowing the father to see his children after driving for 3 hours to do so.

Have you seen the court release or is this what the press is saying?

Sam will get his day in court and we might see what really happens, not that it's any of our business.

Well I'd be waiting to see what really went down.

From what I've read online all accounts are copies of the original press report from the Telegraph (Weidler?)
Tonga beat Gt. Brittan 14-6. Time Bennett let them coach their own team. That big pot everyone is talking about looked like shy. As usual James Graham put in but he wasn't backed up by a pop gun forward pack.
