Possibly Newc, some people have been unimpressed with Auva'a thus far, but it's Madge's decision that counts.

I think his try in the CS showed why he needs to be there. It may have looked simple, but their was a bit of work involved. The footwork and speed to get to the outside of the opposing centre, holding the ball in 2 hands so the winger stayed on our winger for a split second longer then he should have, then the strength and power to get himself through the the half gap he created.
The only area he lacks behind goodwin is his grunt work, getting involved in bringing the ball out, but that improved dramatically in the 2nd half of the Titans game. I think it went a bit unnoticed, but i have the feeling he was told to get involved more in that department because he was hitting the ball up like ben teo in the 2nd half.

Auvua's got that 'mongrel' in him that top class players have, he'll be rigth, don't worry about that. He's a lot like Mati (?) from Manly infact in the games they have played against each other Auvua has not taken a backwood step from Mati.

I won't bhe surprised if Hunt turns out alright as well, he seems to0 have a bit of mongrel to.

Now if we can only find some one to replace Gray on the wing.

I love centres who love getting one over the opposite centre, and enjoy the challenge. Wether it is by 'mongrel' thay guys like matai, Hodges or auva'a have or even by beating opposing centres with class, like jamie lyon does on a regular basis

Yep, hardest position on the field, centre.

I always liked Auvua and Matai (thanks for the spelling) and Lyon.

More newspaper articles about GI and his future. This time his agent has been quoted as saying Souths have first option and that they are looking to extend his contract. Same stuff as what was said last year. I don't know why we keep going round in circles. GI will retire a Bunny.
