I loved watching this game.....and the replay is now on Fox Sports 1.

In the 70s we had the Silvertails versus the Fibros.

Last night we had the Flagons versus the Methadones.

That knee from Gavet should get a lengthy suspension regardless of the impact point or the force behind it. Need to rub that shit right out. This aint MMA...

100% spot on Franky

It was stupid and he will rightfully be charged and suspended. However as said it was merely a love tap, burgess was holding his arm to get a penalty and gavet was trying to get free. It wouldn't have bruised a peach. Dumb and unnecessary neverthe less.

At least it wasnt a planned assault like all the souffs head highs

WTF, you cannot try to diminish his actions by previous/other actions. he made a conscious decision to knee a bloke in the head. Regardless of the force behind it. A minimum of 8 weeks on the sideline.

I'm with Johnsy, Gavet should cop several weeks. That was a horrific think to attempt

Just saw the penalty try incident. How the f**k does the video ref rule that his foot was in touch before the high shot when it clearly, clearly was not the case?

Someone absolutely must be sacked for that incredible f**k up. Absolutely gobsmacked.

Agree. Wingers know how to position their body in those situations. Richards lost control of his leg when getting clocked

In the head ? He was kneeing the guy's arm to break free. Nowhere near anyone's head. Not even close.

It was a very brutal game, with the Bunnies pack going well overboard with grubby tactics but the refs did little to control it, preferring to award a thousand penalties for off-side, hold downs, hands on the ball etc. 21 penalties and not one for a late shot on the kicker even though Brooks was clearly being targeted and hit late.
I don't particularly like Wests but I'm really glad they won this game and I applaud the bravery of their forwards for standing up to and overcoming the thugs in red and green. Well done.

What hope do they have getting try decisions right if they can't see his foot was over 300mm from the sideline when hit.

He scores if not smashed.

If by head you mean arm then you are 100% correct

Hit the cans pretty hard last night.

This morning dropped a hulking great grogan which was more noise then substance.

I named it Burgess

When the refs won't do their job and protect you then you are left with no choice but to protect your own.

If Simona was sent for 10 I bet Woods doesn't put Burgess in a knee breaking position. If 2 key Souths players don't get hit with unpunished dog shots they don't lose their temper later in the game.

Simona was unlucky to be penalised let alone put on report. GI was on the ground, Simona wont have a case to answer.

Woods tackle whilst looking bad is fine, sometime in a contact game you get bent in a bad position. I loved Woods controlled aggression last night against the so called best pack in the NRL. Woods killed them last night. What I loved most is all the Tigers were straight in and not tacking any crap. This is a different pack from years gone past.

Sam should have been in the bin for 10 for being third man in.

Gavet as I mentioned earlier will get rightfully suspended. He missed the head and it was a soft knee. If no loading will get about 2-3 weeks.

The high shots on Tedesco were uncalled for and I will think at least 2-3 Souths players will spend some time suspended.

The refereeing needs to be looked at. They lost controlled and if they have sent a player off they may have gained control. Despite what Souths fans think the refs actually favoured them last night.

It is early days but Souths to be title contenders need to improve vastly.

I think as I said all along the Tigers will finish around 10th and will be a far better side next year.

Oh please. GI was getting low from about 5 metres out. Anyone with a vague level of coordination could have avoided his head. With GI going in off his feet there was no need to go flying in. He wasn't going anywhere even if Simona took a fraction of a second to control himself. Simona was able to avoid his head, he didn't care enough to do that.

And Woods? When a player is on his knees you can take him down diagonally backwards, or to his side, the one place he cant go without risking serious damage is straight back. Everybody with a shred of common sense knows that. He knew it, he didn't care.

Neither Woods nor Simona did anything illegal.

Simona clearly did. Woods did not. But both were dirty plays.
