Muse are 100 times better than Radiohead. Radiohead are boring and bland and I have to put up with them non stop in my mates car :? Still, it's just my opinion, to each their own I guess.

Like several others have said, The Bends and OK Computer are great albums. The latter is one of the all time greatest albums IMO, it's near perfect. I hated the direction they went with Kid A, and I've barely been interested in their stuff since. I mean it's not bad, but it's just pretty average. I saw them this year when they came out and all of the older songs were way better than Kid A onwards songs

This Topic: Pointless, opinionated, or just a waste of space?

You're free to your opinion, but why listen to them if you don't like them? I'm not a huge Radiohead fan, I like a few of their tracks, but I really don't see the point in 'sledging' their fans simply because you don't like or understand their music.

Radiohead are a great band!

My favourite Radiohead song is a B side called 'The Trickster'. If you have a moment download it!

I love some of their earlier stuff - The Bends and OK Computer are great CD's.

But I have not been into them since OK Computer.

Just starting to get a bit boring, and sounding the same.

In my opinion, Muse have now taken the mantle that they held in the 90's with that kind of music.
Muse are bloody awesome. So pissed off i didnt go and see them in concert!!  All my mates went too.

I have to say Bazza, I was thinking a similar thing about the album OK Computer.

I have the earlier album 'Pablo Honey' and think it is great. Thinking about you' 'ripcord' and heaps of others. Really liked it.

So i keep hearing all these rave reviews of OK computer and finally see a copy for 10 bucks a couple of weeks ago. I have to say from the listens so far, I find it really boring and not interesting at all.

My opinion of radio head going from pablo honey to ok computer has dropped big time. I still owe it a few more listens to see if it is one of those albums I hate at first and then love but so far ive got no interest in it at all.

For an album that got so many raps, I find it not a scratch on pablo honey.

It's not that Radiohead are "starting to sound boring" - I'd suggest they are just too intelligent for you to get.

enter the pomposity of a radiohead fan. How arrogant is it thinking radiohead fans are more intelligent than others that just don't dig the sound.

I personally, think radiohead are ok, i don't think they are as brilliant as many people try to advocate. Isn't musical reinvention or experimentation another name for self indulgence?

If all you like about Radiohead is Creep - you need to actually listen to them rather than bag a band that influences alot of modern day music that you hear every day.

some sense finally

A very influencial band indeed

I think the hold music I sometimes get has deep influences from the head.
Apparently at some companies, if they don't want to serve you, they just put on the radiohead inspired hold music - most people find it so crappy - they hang up pretty soon

LOL

Isn't being a writer, singer, musician, painter, or any sort of artist or entertainer pure self-indulgence? Thinking that for some reason people should be listening to you and applauding your thoughts when you aren't really doing anything useful? Music is self-indulgence by definition, "self-indulgence" doesn't have to be used in the pejorative sense.

Without Musical Reinvention or Experimentation we wouldn't have The Beatles for starters - where on earth would we be without them? I'm certainly not suggesting Radiohead are as influential as The Beatles, but I would suggest for sure we would not have bands such as Coldplay, Oasis, or Muse without Radiohead "reinventing" their music (I would prefer evolving, but whatever). Electronic music, or modern day rock using elements of Electronic music would not exist or be modernly acceptable without Kid A - thats a fact (no one would have the guts to try it without risking dollars and/or credibility besides Radiohead).

Say what you want about them, but music would be at least 5 years behind where we are now without them.

i'm not saying experimentation or reinvention is a bad thing, all i'm saying is sometimes it comes off and sometimes it doesn't. In my opinion radiohead are very hit and miss.

In my opinion Radiohead are far more hit than they are miss. If they released one album with the best bits of Kid A and Amnesiac rather than 2 albums we wouldn't be having this discussions - they would be geniuses.
