There's a deadset simple solution to all of this:

When a player is attempting a conversion or penalty goal:

STOP THE CLOCK!

The clock can be restarted once everyone is in position for kick-off.

Man, do you realise how sloooowly a high-scoring game will go for then?? Ironically, the game would be quicker if you let the kickers take their shots with the clock running!!

TV won't like it & neither will the fans - it'll make footy almost as bad as Gridiron...

Cheers,
Ben S.

O.K. O.K. obviously you shouldn't let any player take too long to kick a conversion or penalty goal but I think 90 secs is a little harsh... (especially for near touch-line shots) why not give them at least 30 seconds more? 2 mins for a shot at goal is not unreasonable at all.

The solution is obvious to me, I've stated it before. Why not allow them to take as much time asthey like but deduct 90 seconds from the time remaining?

   You just can't get it can you? There is nothing wrong with being close to 90 seconds. It's going over thats the problem.

I'll state it here and now. If we had of gone over, we should be fined. Everyone knows the rules.

hmmmm yes, so far clinton is the only one....
