It is strange , during preseason Campo trained as a lock , I agree someone from the club should come out and say whats going on and no b*llsh*t either.

On the campo front i have heard two main reasons, and was told he will never play first again this year, and won't be here next year, from my source.

I will not say anything more about here but will answer a pm

Whispers on another forum suggest Henry is having to deal with the attitudes of certain young players. Apparently there are a few big heads and a bit of arrogance from these select younger players.

Bronx appears to be one. I suggest maybe Campo is another?

Miller at lock is ridiculas. He must be Henry's pet, I have nothing against Josh but I feel if Campo is a better option then play him there. Or Chalk even.

Kelly is a tragic winger. so I concur with Legend; Sherwin will carve our back 3 up. None of them (except Howell) has enough experience for my liking to handle Sherwin who has a pretty handy short kicking game.

If the rumours are true that there are some attitude problems in the club with the young fellas, this will affect the team selected. How else can you not select the only specialist fullback in the club, instead selecting a forward?

The same with Milne not in for Kelly instead.

It seems coach Henry has a bit of work to do.

Bronx is an interesting one. I mean he's 23 and has only played a handful of games, a bit strange considering the potential he has.

dubby, if Goodwin and Campo are out due to disciplinary issues what is the point of picking them in FG simply because of injury? Chalk at FB is a risk, but IMO Goodwin is a million miles from earning a free ride just because Zillman is out for the season. Chalk has also been a good FB in the past, so it's not like putting Learoyd-Lahrs back there.

Carney came out after his time off and said the biggest factor in his penalty was being dropped from first grade. When there is an attitude problem with young fellas you have to speak to them in terms they understand; either dropping them from FG, or stopping them from partying when they don't deserve to.

The picture we see here is bigger than the last four rounds of 2007. These young fellas have the future of our club in their hands and I'll support any coach who is willing to put them in their place when they need it. That's the downside of having such a young team.

I know for a fact we ran all over the Eels because they got plastered the night before the game thinking we'd be easy beats. They then came out and got what they deserved. These guys are well paid and our fans deserve better than that crap.

However, I do agree that starting Miller at lock is an interesting move - especially with the likes of Costigan on the bench, but the fact is our most solid defenders in Plum and Tongue are out injured so we'll lose something no matter who you put in there. Maybe Jones should have been considered, but they could be playing it easy with his recovery??

If Campese is on the outer and won't be there next year then he will be a great pick up for another club. Probably a club like Manly who seem to be able to take Canberra discards to another level. We can't afford to lose a player of his quality particularly in light of the fact that he has yet to be given a go in the positions he has been training for i.e. the back row.

So if Campo and Bronx have a bit of an ego, they get dropped and never return?? Yet Carney can do just about everything and return to FG? This is the type of crap which forces players out of the club...

And yea i know its just hearsay as of now..so im not really annoyed just confused as to what is keeping one of our better players in PL.

With the recent shanigans regarding Campo and Bronx and the mid season suspension of Carney I suspect Raiders management and coach gave up any hope of finishing the season with a spot in the finals some time ago.

As a paid up season ticket holder I expect to see the best team on the park EVERY week .... anything less than that deserves an explanation from the club.

I hope Henry doesnt turn into Smith MkII

If Henry was as pissed off as reported after the Cowboys game I doubt he's given up on our finals hopes.

Actually I think it's to the contrary, it was some of the players who played like they given up on our finals hopes.

Not sure if it's been mentioned before, but it seems Turner is playing lock and Picker moves into the second row. I assume this means Miller is back on the bench.

Much better rotation and I think Picker can do some damage if he runs at Sherwin and Roberts.

Did Weyman come in for Tongue?

Canberra Raiders coach Neil Henry is poised to throw youngster Joe Picker one of the toughest assignments in rugby league when he tasks him with shutting down Kiwi superstar Sonny Bill Williams.
Henry hinted yesterday he would hand Picker his starting debut against the Bulldogs at Telstra Stadium on Sunday, standing directly opposite dangerous back-rower Williams.
The move will allow Henry to deploy Queensland Origin enforcer Neville Costigan off the bench, while shifting Glen Turner to lock to cover for injured captain Alan Tongue.
The Raiders are bracing themselves for a torrid up-front battle against a Bulldogs pack boasting the likes of Andrew Ryan, Reni Maitua and Mark O'Meley in a game they must win to keep their slim finals hopes alive.
And with defensive specialist Nigel Plum battling a possible season-ending shoulder injury it is Picker who will face the biggest task in keeping Williams quiet.
Picker scored two tries playing in the centres against the North Queensland Cowboys last week in his seventh appearance off the bench this season.
The 19-year-old said he would relish the opportunity to clash with one of the biggest names in rugby league.
"He's got a big name Sonny Bill Williams but you can't worry too much about it," Picker said.
"I'll watch what he does on the video and just get out there and take the yards off him and try not to give him much time.
"They've always had a good pack and a big pack.
"They're strong and it's going to be a big challenge but the NRL is that strong right across the park that it doesn't really matter who you come up against."
Williams has been in stellar form for the Bulldogs this season and is leading the competition in offloads with 53.
The 22-year-old has already played six Tests for his country and is one of the genuine superstars of the game.
Picker played for the Junior Kangaroos last season before making his NRL debut against Melbourne in round two this year.
The Bulldogs will also be boosted by the return of Test prop O'Meley, who is slated to start on the bench.
Henry said Matt Bickerstaff would also spend time opposite Williams, allowing Costigan to make an impact on the other side of the field.
He was confident Turner would ably fill the gap left by Tongue, the team's best defender.
"He's a good talker and a solid defender so I think he'll be good around that ruck area for our forwards," Henry said of Turner.
"The Bulldogs are very strong around that area and they like to go forward through that area so we need to be good.
"Also Matt Bickerstaff's talk around the edges is very good and Joe Picker was unfortunate last week against the Cowboys that he had to defend in the centres, which was very difficult for him at times."
The Raiders are likely to draft prop Michael Weyman onto the bench following the loss of Tongue, while Terry Campese will travel to Sydney as the 18th man.
Reserve forward Tom Learoyd-Lahrs is battling shoulder problems but is likely to play.
Henry put halves combination Michael Dobson and Todd Carney back on notice yesterday, saying Campese was within striking distance of an NRL recall.
He also hinted reserve hooker Ryan Hinchcliffe could force his way back into the team for the last three rounds of the season.
"It's not set in stone that it will be Dobson and Carney at six and seven for the rest of the season," Henry said. "[Campese] is in the mix - we talked [yesterday] and we'll bring him across in the squad."

Whether justified or not this is a massive kick in the guts for Bronx. The guy has made no secret of the fact the he wants to play fullback, and his non-selection this week seems a petty strong indication that Henry considers Zillman our long term option - particularly when you take into account his comment that he prefers Chalk in the back row!

Playing Chalk back there is a huge risk - I used to love watching him play fullback but he hasn't played there consistently for so long and his positional play was never particularly impressive. One thing you know for sure with Chalky is he will have a genuine rip. Even Bronx's biggest fans couldn't commend his attempts to tackle Bowen and Graham last week. That said I would feel a lot more confident with Bronx or Milne on the wing than Brett Kelly!

I hope the guys play well coz it would be a shame if they let themselves down in the final month of the season, but I honestly can't see us winning.

The info i have is at least three weeks old, and had not heard anything to change what i said.

He might have addressed the issue's, but at the time he had not and was not trying to.

I hope he has and does play a part in the side this year and beyond.

My source has always been reliable i knew about the west link a month before it happening.

And i normally don't sprout off what i hear as i don't want to burn the information bridge or get the person in trouble.
