4. Ben Barba
5. Matt Bowen
6. Josh Dugan
7. Jarryd Hayne
8. Darius Boyd
9. Kevin Locke
10. Josh Hoffman
11. Anthony Minichiello
12. Brett Morris
13. Matthew Wright
14. Lachlan Coote
15. William Zillman
16. Tim Moltzen

Each club's choice based on RLP's most used player in each position feature.

GI at No. 2 could be considered bold but that's just how much I rated his contribution to Souths charge into the prelims. and the Maroons winning despite missing Slater. Really wouldn't be surprised to see him end up at No. 1 in the coming years.

Bowen has been really good over these past two years. Unfortunately, just can't turn it on anymore to cause the top teams that much of a threat outside of Townsville.

5-10 are basically made up of good players who had disappointing seasons either due to injury (Dugan, Hayne, Locke) or had form slumps (Boyd & Hoffman).

Mini a tad unlucky but years of injuries have dulled his spark and he's got the odd clanger in him.

Morris could be higher but I don't see any long term value in him as a fullback. He had a decent stint, I'd leave it there. Similar story with Wright who was very solid but not much else.

Coote has really fallen off as a fullback, appears he'll be moving into the halves. A shame, because in 2010 he was really pushing for a Top 5 spot.

Don't rate either Zillman or Moltzen. Moltzen takes it because some of his efforts were embarrassing.

Top 5

1. Slater
2. Bowen
3. Inglis
4. Hayne
5. Barba

I like this top 5.

On pure talent Hayne is the best but i don't think he plays the fullback role as well as the others.
He needs to get the ball further back from the defensive line IMO and not play as a stand off with a one on his back.

I would have Reece Robinson ahead a number of full-time fullbacks at other clubs. In fact I would probably slip him in ahead of Minichiello on Big Pete's list. Very underrated ball player.

Yes.

I mean, yes to the no.

Slater puts in all game every game, not just when the mood takes him.

Yes he has Cronk and Smith, but he also has heart and guts. Oh, and talent, oodles of talent.

Ps I hate him, he's a grub. It's just that he's about the best grub I've ever seen.

How Mini isn't at the bottom of everyone's list i don't know. Reece Robinson is light years ahead of him now.

If I wasn't limiting it to one player per club I'd agree.

Been great to see Reece's development at the Raiders. Admittedly acted like they signed Minto when you got him off us but he's really worked on those brief flashes of potential he showed at the Broncos (particularly in a game against Souths) but he's easily become one of the most improved players over the years.

I wouldn't swap Stewart for any fullback, the only minutely better bloke for the job is Slater but he is a rotten cheating grub

Inglis isn't to bad, Barba....one good season doesn't make a career

Slater
Stewart

Daylight

all the others aren't even worthy of a mention

And I deduce from this that Mulumbimby Madness is back on the market and you have smoked a shiteload of it.

I have to agree with the other Panthers fans on Gordon being up there with the best. Up to the point he was injured last year he was one of the form players in the NRL. As SSTID pointed out he was on the wing for the majority of 2010, but he played more like a fullback. Seriously, how could any traditional winger playing in a backline with a halves pairing of Walsh/Burns & playing outside Adrian f**king Purtell score 230 odd points in a season?

He may not be the number one at each attribute required from a fullback, but he is in the top couple for EVERY attribute. The poor bloke has had a career cruelled by injury, & the timing of the injuries has all but made his rep career a non event.

The biggest reason I think he is rated by Panthers fans more so is we watch him every game. Every game is consistent, I cant recall him going MIA or have a bad game ever. If he recovers well enough to recapture 80 percent of his 2011 form I would sooner have him back from the Sharks than Lewis.
