where do you rank Gasnier amongst the best centre's of all time??

imo he is the best I've seen and easily the most gifted.

Could have also been so much better.

Not sure he'd be in the top ten I've seen for my club, sorry.

He was good, though iniury prone and never focused. Didn't he sign with Wigan there at one stage before Saints blocked the deal. Didn't fire up enough, except with Mini in Origin camp.

He held an imaginary sieve in front of him and swished it around like he was washing the sand off the nippers.
Farked if I know why, but it seemed to mesmerise the opponents.
Farked if I know why.
Maybe his grandfather was a witch doctor, or something . . . and it was some sort of hoodoo voodoo.

Anyway, probably in most people's top 30 or so.
Seems to have lost a fair bit of knobness when you see him on fox nowadays. Maybe it's the lack of the big red wee.

At his best, Gasnier >>> Lyon. And maybe even Gasnier >>> Hodges.

Gaz was awesome at his peak, no doubt. The most dangerous centre that ive seen. Was equally adept at breaking the line and stepping the fullback for a 50 yard try as he was at sucking in his oppositie centre and winger and sending his outside man away with a sensational ball.

In terms of consistency though, id take Hodges over him as the best centre of the last 10-15 years.

One of those players that still had a very good if not great career when it's all said and done but unfortunately injuries and career decisions prevented him from reaching the heights a player of his ability should have.

From 04-06 he was the best centre in the game.

Yep but a few good seasons isn't enough to rank him high all time. At his peak he was great but his peak wasn't seen often enough.

Great player who got cut down by injuries, poor decisions and of course the 'Brown Polish' (I mean moving him to 5/8 ffs).

Loved watching him in full flight but that was a rare thing.

That Dragons 05/06 side must be one of the biggest underachievers the game has seen.
