yeah, it looks good for next year and maybe we can finish strong this year. Who knows with injuries and suspensions and SOO and coaches getting sacked ? Penrith did it last year.

I thought the sharks didnt like ridell they think he is fat and can only play 50 min ?? aint that right ? but obviously he would be a good signing if u get him, goodluck

I wouldn't want him. Of all the hookers in the league, I wouldn't take anyone ahead of Sully. I wouldn't mind Marsh, but that's because I'd use him as a 5/8th anyway.

I don't see anybody else tearing me down.
Just the usual Bird fantologist.
Salmon will be here soon.

I rate him, but I'd rather have Suly there and Riddell at Hooker with him or Aitken coming off the bench.

Here is my interpretation of what he meant regarding Bird and Aitken.

I didn't think his mood changed when discussing Bird.

On Aitken I got the impression he wasn't keen to talk about his plans for Aitken this weekend, but it sounded as though he would definately be in the 17. I also got the impression he is keen to get a better idea of Aitken's ability in the top grade, but at this stage is open minded to hitting the market for a 5/8.

Overall I enjoyed the interview, he came across really well.

Ali I watched the interview again tonight(straight after the sharks replay) and I would agree with you on the Aitken factor, Stuey definetly has plans for him and I think those plans are going to start this weekend,Stuey just didn't want to tell to much to Fox.That Stuey Raper will be recognised as a great coach down the track and I hope he is still with the sharks in 10 years time. I didn't realise, until tonight, younger brother Aeron is spending extra time with ALL our hookers might be the reason why Sully has come on in leaps and bounds as a hooker

I think that Stuart is a passionate local, having grown up and played his Junior football in the area. as well as commencing his Coaching Career here. He really wants to see the area do well for his team and obviousaly his long term future.

I think that next year, when he can mould and buy the team he wants, that we will see the best of the sharks. Still this year is going well, even though we need a 5/8, and another quality back rower.

By the way does anyone know whther Sludge is still leaving and going to take over the USA Rugby League as rumoured[/img][/b]

I've never heard that rumour. I doubt it strongly considering how closely i follow the Sharks and International footy.

Aaron coaches the Jersey Flegg too.

Wasn't he supposed to be coaching the Parramatta Flegg side this year?

There was something about that at the end of last year but let me assure you, he coaches Flegg. He has got them going fairly well now too.

I call it a lie or a fabrication or an interpretaion. What you called it was fact. It is clearly not fact. You just added your own words to suit your argument. I'll take back calling you a liar when you take back the lies.

What reefy having a broad, liberal interpretation of the truth and manipulating it even further to make his argument sound better? surely not.

Someone has already given us Rapers spool on his relationship with Kimmorley but I got the distinct impression that it was far from love at first sight and remains rather tentative. Professional at best but far from buddy buddy. Thats the drift I got anyway.

The Sludge rumour has been around for a while in Leagues Club circles. It was understood that he gave six months notice a while back, but the Board was trying to change his mind through the season.

I guess we will have to wait and see whether it is true

The best thing to come out of the whole 5/8 speil by Raper is that he recognised we need another point of attack to take some pressure of Kimmorley.
Like it was mentioned he was open minded to who that may be whether it be Aitken or signing a player from outside the club. Obviously he has to see how Aitken goes in the top grade before he goes searching.

On Aron Raper he was coach of Parra until Stu took over. It appears Jason Williams (the old coach) was CA aligned and subsequently left or was told to leave (not sure which one). Parra were good enough to let Aron go and help out his brother. Flegg were a bit slow out of the blocks but he has got them going ok at the moment. His work with Sully and the other hookers appears to be paying off as well.
