Rate Noddys kicking game

I'm not picking on him, but I think this area of the Sharks game is Rapers biggest problem.

while there is no doubt his kicking form hasnt been good this year he has the runs on the board as a very good kicker

Not to bad a kicker. In my opinion he needs to improve with his Goalkicking, Bananas, 40/20's and to an extent corner bombs.

I can't rate his downtowns Millers. At all. His distance is poor & it is compunding the penetration problem we have.
A good downtown can bring great relief & not only his not good, they are poor in target & distance.

Sometimes a kick is only as good as the chasers.
I'd only just give Noddy's kicking game a pass so far this year.
He has missed a few kicks by a matter of feet so he's been a touch unlucky.
The chase has been average mainly because when someone gets there they miss a tackle.
His goalkicking is below par.

I agree with btr, and in comparison - while I dont rate Brett Finch's general play at all I think his kicking game is far superior to Kimmorley's

Kimmorley is kicking from deeper within our own half though...I think some of this problem can be traced back to the forwards

To solve the problem I'd have Sullivan kicking out of dummy half on the 4th or 5th every so often and the rest of the time I'd have Kimmorley stand wider of the play the ball (and therefore the markers), and flatter...quick play the ball and have the dummy half hit him with a quick, flat pass, which beats standing 10 metres behind the ruck and getting a rushed kick as the markers chase

i think - and i speak not for this year alone - that his downtowns are very good

even in spurts this year we have got down the other end only to concede a penalty within the next 6

because of our pizz weak forwards ......nod is forced to kick from around the 30 constantly

last season, his kicks landed in open space more than any other kicker(as a percentage)

sure gower kicked more, but he also kicked a hell of a lot more ....err, i think that made sense, err


But my generel consensus is: He either kicks a purler, or he kicks a lemon. There's not much of the "in between" stuff in nods kicking game

a hot or cold player in many respects

My only comment is that at times he kicks too early too often. Have a look back through the tapes and note the number of times when we finally get the ball and he kicks on the 3rd or 4th tackle. The guys (who are completely farged from non stop tackling and a lack of possesion in the first place are then expected to hare off after it). Play out the 6, Noddy. ;-)

His kicking game is as bad as the options he takes with the ball in hand, Bloody pathetic and Lame.. Much like the whole club so he blends right in

Conversions - 6.5/10 - that's his success rate
Field goals - ?/10 - never seen him try
Downtowns - 7/10 - usually gets good distance
Grubbers - 8/10 - we score a lot of our tries from hi grubbers
Corner bombs - 7/10 - usually kicks these ok
Bananas - N/A - he never tries to do this stupid kick
Chips - 7/10 - Quite good at it.
40/20's - 3/10 - haven't seen him go for many of these
Kick decisions - 5/10 - half the time he goes for a wrong option

Overall, he is a pretty good kicker.
Not all that many guys who kick a ball a hell of a lot better.

Top 5 in the NRL for general play.
I do not rate his goal kicking, but it seems to be improving.
Needs a decent backup to take some pressure off, he cannot kick everytime, far to predictable.

i remember sullivan kicking out on the full and gaining no ground on the occasions he did kick\

dont fall for reefy's usual rewriting of history

kimmorley is regarded as one of the best kickers in the NRL and rightfully so
