whos Dave Mustaine :?

I bet they had more women then most of us could dream off.

Gene Simmons  4000+women

BTW

Ratt was also on The Golden Child, the Song " Body Talk" was the main song to the soundtrack

And 'Body Talk' sucked too. What's your point?

I also wasn't aware that Gene Simmons was in Ratt, nor that sleeping with 4000 disease-ridden slappers was something to be overly proud of.

Body talk was a very good song, when it came out it was very popular, much like all their songs :D

Gene Simmons was in KISS.......and they too were glam, my point was, if they were so gay how come he's been with so many women??

Fair enough, but didn't Megadeth have a certain hair band feel about them for a while??

BTW

Frank, from the samples you have given us on the website, it really doesn't give them any credit at all, the samples are 10 second distorted samples with many of the samples without any vocals...just guitar.

I think if you were to actually listen to them properly....they are very good, go and download some of their songs from winmx or whatever.......where you can actually hear the whole song & the reception is a million times better.

I can't work out how you came to the conclusion that they were crap from listening to those pathetic 10 seond samples of about four songs

Which is why they were or are shithouse. They were just another generic, 80's pop-metal,hairspray pack of wankers band. Nothing special at all.

You're entitled to your opinion........no matter how wrong you are.

In fact, going by record sales of 80's hair bands such as Gunners, Bon Jovie, Aerosmith, Ratt, Motely Crue etc...i dare say your opinion reflects the minority.

PS, i can see where your taste comes from, look at your sig   , the worst performing prime ministers this country has ever had  ;-)

It's a case of flooding the market. If the music market in that time period was flooded with that SHIT (which it was, if you ignore the weird pop stuff that was going on) the only real choice for "Rock" fans was this hair metal shit. If it's forced down your throat then you have no option then not to give in. It's the same with this RNB hip hop shit going on in the present. It's everywhere, therefore kiddies are lapping it up. Just so I can put some egg in your hairspray infected perm, would you like me to list some of my favourite bands?

I disagree.
Aerosmith were a great rock & roll band through the late 70s, 80s and early 90s.
Admittedly, they've dropped the bundle somewhat over the last few years but they can still deliver a great song when they want to.

Ratt were neither rock & roll nor great, therefore nothing like Aerosmith at all really.

I've only heard the cheap, plastic Aerosmith that sounds like its been through a dishwasher. Like the rest of all 80's "Rock".

Well as i said earlier, thats your opinion and your entitled to it..........know matter how wrong you are.

As for the music being shoved down peoples throat that is garbage. That style of music was extremely popular and thats why their was so many acts, if you don't like it don't listen to it.

I've heard so much hip hop it ain't funny, but do you think i'll go out and buy an album??...hell no!.

You either like or not........simple as that!, people appreciate certain styles.....and thats all it is.

Should see the movie Rock Star

I like some of your choices from that list

AC/DC, The Darkness, Green Day, RATM, Pacifier/Shihad, Audioslave, Led Zeppelin, Incubus, Tool, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Midnight Oil, Hoodoo Gurus, Velvet Revolver, Billy Thorpe, ZZ Top,The Foo Fighters,Canned Heat,Jeff Buckley,Chain, Thin Lizzy, Led Zeppelin,Joe Satriani,The Smashing Pumpkins,Steve Vai,U2

They were my choices in that list, but it leads me to the question........how can yopu like the Darkness when they are exactly what hair metal were in the mid 80's???.........everything from style too voice too lyrics.

Velvet Revolver contain many GNR menbers which too could be considered some what glam in their early stages.

Here's a peak at my favourites

- Van Halen
- Ratt
- Motely Crue
- Skid row
- Gunners
- Bon Jovi
- The Police
- The Beatles
- The Beach Boys
- Midnight Oil
- The Church

- Forigner
- Ice House
- Malmstein
- Joe Satriani
- Dio
- Black Sabbath with Ozzy & Ronnie

"but didn't Megadeth have a certain hair band feel about them for a while?? "
About as much as what Metallica does.
Heavily hardcore and NWOBHM influenced, there simply is nothing glam about Megadeths sound at all.

Megadeth, pretty much anti-hair metal.......btw-am finding Youthanasia a killer album! Sure it ain't thrash but this kills - maybe i'm a fan of the less thrashy stuff........A Toute Le Monde, Elysian Fields, Blood of Heroes.......Ron, check out Blood of Heroes, you may just like

-Peace Sells
-My Last Words
-Good Mourning/Black Friday
-Wake up Dead
-Rattlehead
-Looking Down The Cross
-Mary Jane
-Set the World Afire
-In My Darkest Hour
-Holy Wars...The Punishment Due
-Tornado of Souls
Then they started leaning towards Metallica's 'Black album'
-Skin O' My Teeth
-Foreclosure of a Dream
-Blood of Heroes
And the rest of it is just filler tracks badly put together so Mustaine could try and out do his arch nemesis James Hetfield

Valid point. The Darkness have no reverb in their songs. Their music has a better allround tone IMO.

Nah, i disagree, they sound just like a typicall 80's hair band with the falsetto, lyrics....the guitar is more Brian May like though........but the whole persona is identical imo.
