On Rav , still not sold on him , we will know when he is under the pump , pressure is on him .... Anyway I hope he turns out to be a top winger he is only young and seems strong ..... Time will tell and happy that they are giving him a go to find his way ....

Like this week DCE will kick to high all day.
I think both winger need to improve in the air.
Rav has only played a few year of league so he will improve. Hazz maybe we should employ a AFL guy to show them how to catch high kicks and to kick the ball better. Just like Melbourne Brisbane and a few other clubs do

Surely Hornby could manage that position.

I think he was fast enough to keep up with Hunt but a Grubs player got in his way. He was worried about knocking the Gribs player over and conceding a penalty. However, at this stage, he certainly isn't as fast as I hoped he was. Still going well. Getting better each week. I'm just worried about the lack of speed in our team when it comes to the big games at the end of the season I'm confident we will play against Melbourne and Rorters.

What is his speed like?

He not as fast as dufty and field or Pearson
But he is up there.
There all faster than him over 20m
But over 80 and 100 he up there with lomax .
I think he has enough pace.
But it's between the ears that he needs to improve.
He still learning he has only played 3 years of rugby league. I think he's a work in progress.

I have seen Jordan catch a few high balls AFL style with hands above his head.

I
Periera is great, reminds me of a more coordinated Nightingale at times. He's a player in the same category as Josh Mansour. Not so fast, but strong and very smart. Has great footy IQ as shown by his positioning
was sceptical about him but now im his biggest fan.....yes how GOOD is his positional play!! he will be a keeper for years! well done Jordan!! congrats for such hard work I smell a GF coming sooner than you think brother...

That’s how it appears to me. He looks very uncertain at times. It’s too early to claim he’s a success but Overall I’d say he’s looking promising. He’s definitely shown he’s as strong as an ox. There’s every indication his confidence and decision making will only get better the more games he plays. I have a suspicion to, that once he gets in the clear he’ll surprise many with his speed and will take some bringing down. All in all I’ve been happy to sit back and wait and see how it’s unfolds. Im happy to follow along but I do have to comment that I find his selection very ‘unMary like’. Not experienced. Not an international.
Lets hope this paves the way for more brazen selections?

Can someone please tell me what is this fascination with length of the field trys?

I mean, how many are scored each round from each team from the wing?

Our game (McGregors game) plan does not facilitate spreading the ball from within our own half, never mind our own 20m. 5 hit ups and kick, thats our play.
We only look at spreading once we get over (or close enough to) the half way line. So, a bullocking run from Rava or JP or Aitken and even Lafai is our play.
Safety first from within our half, attack in theirs.

Our real only hope of a long range try would be similar to the Ben Hunt to Dufty try last year, where the opposition dropped the ball, thats really it.

Just another point, our wingers are being used more frequently as an extra forward, carting the ball up, hardly the place for a sleek ferrari. Our wingers more the Landcruiser type.

I would say less than 8% of all trys in the NRL are score from more than 50 meters out.
Melbourne wouldn't have much better than that.

Our wingers need to be able to score length of the field tries. If they can't then go set other wingers.
