I will also miss Rava,

It was like he was learning on the job first year the he got better.

A similar tackle on Gutherson in 2021. Big smile when he scored.
A bit like Craig Smith -rubbed out.
All the best to him
It is unfortunate, but it is time for several upgrades and several purges. Flanno has identified what positions need better players and so I'm happy to leave that with him to go get the upgrades.

We all want something better that can provide more quality service and much improved results. We stick to guys that don't meet modern day ways, then our results just won't improve.

I will miss Rava as well but hopefully his replacement will mean more positive results for the club, likewise with the others who will ultimately go.

I for one will miss Rava

My favourite tackle was against the Roosters on Brett Morris
He hit Brett so hard in the midriff Morris bounced back before Rava's arms could wrap around.

Morris was winded for 5 minutes

To me- a perfect, legal tackle

Can't remember how many weeks Rava got, but it was BS.
For the record, it was Josh. Otherwise I agree completely

Me too. My favourite player.

However, as I've said in another thread, if this means we end up winning more and see better results on the field, then I can accept the decision. At some stage we have to put faith in the coach to make the right decisions. No matter what we think about team changes and recruitment, the buck stops with Flanno. And I've seen enough positive changes in the team this year to back him to make the right decisions at this stage.

I know Rava can be a bit hit and miss sometimes but he runs the ball hard, particularly in defence. He is solid and can find the line.
The lack of tries can be pinned down to opportunity. They are not playing his side in favour of Lomax. He gets very little ball and fewer passes to get into a scoring position. Its nothing more than this. His handling is probably due to the lack of ball.
I believe he is a good option for wing and possibly a move to the forwards as his speed and size would suit a backrower or lock. His defence would improve as he is not waiting on the wing to swoop the backline advances of the opposition.
Lomax leaves at the end of the season and so playing to that wing, unless there is a player to step up, will mean more opportunity.
My opinion but, I think he still has a lot to offer given the chance.

ah the magic arm somehow shielding the oval shaped ball from touching down on a single blade of grass. Can't make that shit up, it was a try if his jumper was purple or navy blue. Yes you are right, he was on the right when he scored.
That was quite an ironic moment. If the ref sent it up "try" then the Bunker couldn't have overruled for the exact same reasons they had to call it "no try" based on inconclusive evidence.
For the record I actually couldn't justify giving it a try - but at least that got evened up later because IMO it was fairly doubtful CT grounded the ball in one of the 3 tries he scored.
2 more examples of the NRL Bunker lucky dip.

Flanno loves massive units, if he wants Rava gone, you can assume there is very much something substantial in that...

In any case id like to move forward next year and lets see who we sign yet.... I dont want to see NSW Cup clogged up with Rava, Bird, Lawrie etc... want there to be room for some kids to develop.
I definitely think it's the off-field stuff

I also think it could be that Flano is rewarding effort for a few guys who played NSW Cup and bought their time to get an opportunity in FG

while equally putting the blowtorch on a few FG guys and saying if u don’t measure up u are not in FG

that’s 101 coaching

for all we know Flano might still want Rava if Rava is playing his best

I think the emerging budget Tui may have thrown a spanner in the works though

If a coach brings up a player from NSW Cup and they perform well which they are, why drop them for someone who played first and was dropped due to poor form? Rava just needs to wait for a spot to open. In saying that I think Finau should be next cab off the rank. This kid has been better than Rava in NSW cup and has more of a future than it appears Rava has seeing he is being told to look elsewhere.

Max outstanding, really ?
Agree - he gets the merit award for most improved not sure about top of the class.

Good on Flanno for getting the best out of him. Not sold on flicking Rav though. Same as letting Lomax go not sold at this stage. If we could land decent replacements, it would be a different story.

Your kidding you want matt and Max who over Rav and lomax
The brothers had no club chasing them they are nsw club players not nrl standards.
Rav is a big unit who, with the right motivation can fire big time
Lomax is now a red-hot origin player great goal kicker also

Matt and Max win most improved award for the class, half the size of Rav and as far as I am aware, cannot kick goals

I know who I would rather have stay.

Why can't they move Cake on instead???
