With Alan jones the sideline colour man

What's up Alan Jones? Isn't Roger Rogerson a mate?
What’s doing with Jonesy and Roger Rogerson? Ten years or so ago, I remember listening as Alan Jones did a breathtakingly soft interview – the softest I’ve ever heard, outside every Coalition politician, ever – where he bowled up the disgraced detective a series of questions about whether he had ever done anything corrupt or violent.
Rogerson replied “No, Mr Jones, never,” or words to that effect, about 10 times, and Jones finished up with something along the lines of “Well, there you have it, you’ve heard it from the horse’s mouth. Thank you Roger Rogerson.”

and more

NM reported that Mr Jones, an Officer of the Order of Australia, had launched a book written by Rogerson in 2009, detailing his life as a cop. The story also referenced an interview Mr Jones conducted with Rogerson at the time, on Radio 2GB.

He told listeners: “I’m not one of those politically correct people and it mightn’t be politically correct to say it but if we had – you talk to people at the grass roots – if we had a few more of the man I’m about to speak [to] then we’d have few, fewer problems in society confronting society at the moment. A bit of old style policing wouldn’t do any harm.”
This morning, Mr Jones wrote to New Matilda to deny ever having “promoted” Mr Rogerson.

“I don’t know Mr Rogerson. I have no involvement in his life. I am revolted by what has been alleged,” Mr Jones wrote.

“I do know our court system deals with these serious matters and as I’ve said publicly, I trust that Mr Rogerson receives the justice he deserves.

“In relation to your comments about “promoting a man” I did nothing of the kind. I answered the request of the publisher to launch the book and that’s what I did.

One wonders if Alan Jones’ father would have turned in his grave in 2009, when Jones launched the book of disgraced former cop Roger Rogerson.

Alan Jones has an eerie ability to tap into community sentiment, or at least a significant part of it.
Back in October of last year, Alan Jones prefaced an interview with disgraced former New South Wales detective, Roger Rogerson on Radio 2GB: “I’m not one of those politically correct people and it mightn’t be politically correct to say it but if we had – you talk to people at the grass roots – if we had a few more of the man I’m about to speak then we’d have few, fewer problems in society confronting society at the moment.”
Jones launched Roger Rogerson’s book, “The Dark Side”, at the Iron Duke Hotel last October – an inner city Sydney pub that was a true den of iniquity in the days when Neddy Smith had the green light and shovelled out heroin from the back bar.

It's a good thing that Penrith only play Brisbane once this year, at home on a Monday night in Round 18. Therefore I could avoid the urge rising...

Whenever I watch a game Hadley is commentating, I hook up my phone with the speakers & listen to my tunes.

Nothing like watching teams belt each other whilst listening to ABBA.
