mark riddell has a dietician?:shock::shock::shock:He ran for the Leagues Club board a few years ago and just missed out. Parramatta born and bred. His brother is a school teacher (poor bloke). I know his family really well and I can recommend him. Only problem is I think he has the same dietician as Mark Riddell!

IN a stinging insult to the great warhorse just a week out from his ballot box showdown with nemesis Denis Fitzgerald, a Ray Price statue commissioned by the Eels sits idle in a warehouse. Details | Tribute gallery / The Daily Telegraph
IMAGINE, if you will, the following scenario. With just over a week left before he heads to the ballot box against lifelong nemesis Denis Fitzgerald, Eels great Ray Price receives a pre-election boost. Cameras and signatories are gathered at the northern end of Parramatta Stadium for a momentous event - the long-awaited unveiling of Price's very own bronze statue.
What higher public accolade or endorsement of one's standing to represent the club at board level is there?
As the cover comes down and the accolades start to pour, a smiling Price can't help but appreciate the incredible dose of providence his campaign has been dealt. With a sparkle in his eye, the old warrior looks straight across to a certain office window of Parramatta Leagues Club, from which Fitzgerald can directly curse the damned thing as the countdown continues to next Sunday's football club vote.
For Price and his supporters, this story sounds too good to be true.
But it very nearly wasn't because everything detailed above was scheduled to happen today.
That's right - Saturday, December 6, just eight sleeps from D-day - was the date Parramatta Stadium Trust had booked to honour Price.
After launching the rebel ticket that's seeking to oust the incumbent board, it's fair to say Price was looking forward to the moment with excitement.
"I was putting my hands together," he said. "When I found out my statue was going to be unveiled so close to the election I thought, 'You little ripper'.
"But now they've gone and postponed it."
Whoaaaa . . . postponed it? Why on earth would anyone not want the statue to be unveiled now?
"It was meant to be unveiled by the Premier (and Eels tragic Nathan Rees), but he cancelled," Price revealed.
"I told them I didn't care who did it - but they wanted him. It won't be done until January now."
Instead of taking pride of place outside Fitzgerald's window during the all-important election, the statue will remain safely locked away in a warehouse in Drummoyne.
What would have been a delicious irony has now left a bitter taste in the mouths of some.
What type of journalism is that, seriously? :?Josh Massoud from the article link above said:Whoaaaa . . . postponed it? Why on earth would anyone not want the statue to be unveiled now?
