Home ground advantage with no crowds is not an advantage. Cardboard cutouts don't have much influence on the referees.
It is not like 1980 where we get to train there everyday and get used to the place.
I can actually see it as a disadvantage to us that other teams get to play there more often also. Makes them more familiar with the place

You think we should move our home games to our opponents home ground??? I mean we have no advantage playing at home right?

I don't know why our offloads were down - that's maybe a sign of being physically dominated or a lack of intensity. Hopefully it isnt a sign that the opposition have worked us out.

Making 2200 m to their 1400m isn’t really a sign of being physically dominated ......

Despite what the media thinks and a lot of other people about winning this comp as being easier this year, i think quite the contrary.
There are no split rounds, no byes, no representative weekend games.
It's 18 rounds straight and then semis.
Previously you could probably rest players when playing a team decimated with rep players being out or push players through injury to rest during the bye rounds.
This year you can't or do so at your own peril.
Its quite rare for majority of players to play 20+ weeks straight. Only the rep players may do that.
Plus the fact the backups are not playing weekly makes it all that more difficult.
Its best we have these injuries now so hopefully we have a full complement of players come the business end of the season.
Top 4 is a must.
Outside of that its proven its too hard to win it.
Hopefully last night was a big wakeup call. Despite our comeback, one thing stands out to me and that is I don't recall in recent history Roosters or Storm being down 22-4 at halftime.
These 2 sides are still the benchmark..if they are behind its never by more than 3 converted tries.
Lastly foxsports kept saying an undermanned Manly...WTF. we were also very undermanned.
No Moses, Matto, Fergo. Plus no Evans, Kaufusi and Stone. Nathan Brown played less than half a game.

Yes it’s very favourable. Not only talking about who we play but where we play. We’ve had the luxury of bankwest all year.
Some people.... get over the easy draw shit. What your draw was means SFA on grand final day

I reckon Manly let us roll up field and were confident of containing our shifts. I couldn’t believe Mahoney took that dart from dummy half on the 5th after Jennings (I think) made easy metres through the middle. That was the perfect time to shift the ball. Manly would have been laughing at Mahoney, played right into their hands.

The fact we were rolling up field so easily prob led to our guys not worrying about offloads.

I took the 3.25 for Manly. At Brookie and desperate and we where missing
just as many key players as them.
They proved at full strength they are one of the better sides in comp and where able to match us at Bankwest. Should of won. Take out Turbo,Walker and Fonua and they are weaker but when take away Fergi,Moses, Matterson,Evans and to a lesser degree Stone and Kafusi who both started playing well and we are severely weakened.

We certainly lacked creativity and seemed to think we’ll barge thru the middle. We’ve tried the barge game all year for not much success. On the edges is where it’s at.

Do u honestly think we have no advantage playing so many games at BW
Thats not what i am saying at all ... im saying, yes it would be to our advantage playing at bankwest regularly, but it is offset to some extent by so many other teams also getting to play there regularly. It means its not just ours any more.

I think people are playing down our advantage with the lack of crowd thing. Crowds are a decent part of home advantage, but just always doing the same thing over and over, generally close to home, is also a big advantage.

Interestingly considering how poor we played last night, it was still 4 tries each. And with Gutho’s goal kicking and RCG grounding the ball, we win.

Think that’s a good indication how far we have come as a side, plenty of injuries, play poorly and only just lose.

Bring on the tigers ...

Cant blame the goal kicking. All the f**kin tries bar mennings' were a few metre from touch ... score in the middle f**kers!

Well he’s only played 1 + 11 = 12 minutes, but watching him in the sheds, on the bench and on the paddock, he has the Feleti Mateos Krisnan Inus about him. Needs an angry face. :rage:
I agree regarding no minutes and the lack of killer instinct, though wasn’t overly impressed with at wenty either, signed elsewhere so who cares really!
