Interesting match up this week the Panthers without Gower (and possibly lewis) vs an eels side who's coach has just quit and who will be without Tahu, Hindmarsh and Possibly Grothe.

Personally I'm not feeling confident about this game without Gower. And I really wish Smith had waited a week to quit teams usually fire up under these circumstances.

I think Lewis and Grothe will both be out.I doubt Cooper and Gasnier will both be passed fit before the weekend,if at all.I think Cayless could be out for Para as well.

I'm not confident about this game, mainly because of our poor form in recent weeks without Gower. With Lewis out too,the chances of Priddo moving to 1/2 increases.Aiton will do well if he was to start at hooker and a few players would have gained some confidence yesterday

I know I've been pretty negative in the past couple of posts I've made, but allow me to be the turncoat that I am deep down and just say please remember:

We smashed the Eels 30-0 in the second half without Gowie, at Parra!

Watched NRL Scoreboard last night and Laurie Daley made a few points in regards to the Standby players.
1) Eric Grothe will be the 1st player bought in if Cooper or Gasnier pulled out.
2) Cooper was the most doubtful with the hamstring strain
3) Both players will be given till thursday only to prove their fitness as they don't want Grothe and Lewis playing on friday night if they are to come into the side.

Daley seemed confident Gasnier would play and he was reasonbly confident Cooper would be passed fit.

ADVISORY
16 May 2006

The Parramatta National Rugby League Club wishes to advise that players Mark Riddell and Tim Smith have today been fined $5000 each for unacceptable off field behaviour.

"They have let a number of people down with their behaviour, and the Club will not tolerate it," Parramatta Chief Executive Denis Fitzgerald said.

Both players have apologized to their team mates, staff and supporters for their behaviour.

Coach Jason Taylor has announced both players have been relegated to Premier League this week.

"Selecting them in the team to play Penrith would send the wrong message to the rest of the players that their actions were acceptable, which clearly they were not," Taylor said.

Given Grothe and Cayless may be out on top of these two, Hindy and Tahu if we get within cooee of your mob I'll be happy.....

Can't believe Hookey made the side and at centre, hopefully the fact he doesn't have to deal with Presto defending outside him will make him look a bit better than sh*t.

Good luck again guys.

We've got a few fresh faces which is a positive change for us, so it'll be interesting to see how it all goes!!!
