Thoughts:

I think it was the 77th minute. Sharks get a penalty and go for goal.

The commentators are saying that they are stupid.

What you guys say about the following?

Take a kick at goal and waste as much time as possible. Completely, eff the kick but make sure it goes dead.

It becomes a line dropout from the 20.

DO you guys think that that is a better option?

Alternatively, do what Cronin used to do. Tell the ref that you will kick for touch. Ask for the kicking tee. Place kick for touch wasting as much time as possible

Tbh I thought it was the right call - the Sharks backed their defense to stop a try, and by going 3 up, they took the field goal (a play almost impossible to defend against) out of the equation.

Smart thinking imo.

+1 i think that was why they did it to stop thurston kicking a field goal and taking the game to golden point

it says to me that they've backed their own ability to keep the cowboys away from their own tryline and why not?? ..at that stage they've kept them to 2 tries so I'm sure the move was justified...

It also takes the field goal to level up out of the equation, and a late penalty as well.

It was the right play imo.

Chews up two minutes and means only a try beats you.

Yeah, but at the kickoff, it is different because cowpats will play razzle dazzle and throw it around if they get it back from the kickoff. Which is different to defending during the first 70 mins of the game.

We've been pipped in the last few minutes before and so has NSW SOO team

What is to stop the opposition doing a short dropout and regaining possession? Next idea.
