What the hell is the deal with benching our best forward and defensive player with 4 minutes to go with one try the difference to get Brad Schneider on?

That decision could have cost us the game. If we had a healthy lead. Sure. Go for it. But not when one try can change the result.

Sommo should leave to find minutes somewhere if they are on offer, he is good enough to be playing bench minutes and perhaps add something, its clearly not going to happen for him here.

It was a mixed bag yesterday tbh. I haven't looked at the stats, but it felt like they got a mountain of unearned position and posession, which we mostly absorbed pretty well. In that sense it was gritty. The problem was we put ourselves under that pressure by giving away multiple penalties at crucial times, and while some of them were imaginary, we also got some key calls go our way (ie, Leota staying on the field, Luais penalty resulting in 2 points). We cracked like an egg for their third, but that last 10 minutes we did very well to weather the assault.

Not worth crowing about, but it was a decent win under the circumstances.

If we held them to 10 after getting to 18 and maybe scored one more it wouldve been a good win, as it turned out we won on goal kicking and penalty goals which is ok, 2 points is 2 points.

Discipline remains an issue, experienced players just not up to standard in that area.

Shout out Milky, a train and trial contract and he played like a star yesterday, hattrck, linebreaks, catching bombs. He looked dangerous all round yesterday.
Agree with the progress of Milky. His star is rising.

To be honest, the referees are looking to ping us for anything and have been all year. It's like they have been told, Penrith is not winning this year.

Penalty counts don't mean much when one side gets away with the same stuff the other side gets penalised for. And I mean trivial stuff.

He was Gassed, had to come off, Yeo spoke about it in the presser.

Leota not charged. It always looked to me like the pressure was on the shoulder rather than the neck, but I only watched it once. I thought it shouldn't have even been a penalty.

The Tigers were up for it in the first half. At times their defence was brutal with big hits. Skelton is a beast.
I particularly loved To'o running over Luai. Who, to his credit, smiled. I miss him. He even photo bombed Yeo during a interview.

The Tigers completed 17 straight sets. By the back end of the first half they had 57% possession. I was glad to go in @ HT even Stevens

Muliple dumb penalties by us in their half, made it harder on us than it should have been in the first half.

First time this year we kept a team scoreless in the opening 20 minutes.

The 2nd half they dropped off, until the last 10 minutes. That is why you lost the game Benji. It wasn’t the because of the referee. You didn't play 80 and we punished your errors.

We left points out there, so did they.
I am thankful for Sorro's trysaver at the end.

We won both games between Origin 1 and 2. The best we could hope for.

Our last 6 weeks have certainly been more better than our first 6 weeks.

Imagine getting bailed out of your own half that many times against a suffocating team like ours and complaining about the ref. I wouldn't have been happy about the Luai penalty either but cmon have some self awareness.

We never get penalties for Nathan being hit like that. He gets belted all the time and no matter how late it is. It's play on. Pretty funny the player who gets a penalty for it is Blaize.

We have been penalised for the same thing a bunch of times too. It's a soft penalty. But this type goes against us more often than not. Tigers had soft penalties all game, got away with slowing us down, second efforts, high shots and they go bitching about the referee?

If he wasn't carrying up the field all game Tigers wouldn't have had a single attacking opportunity.

Interesting game.

100% expected to lose. But who backs up if anyone? I'm curious.

Aren't you more interested in the next Eels V Panthers game?

No offence Eels fans...but there were far more Tigers fans today. Kinda disappointing Eels fans didn't show up the week before. Just saying.
We still haven't won a home game, but beat the 2 at CommBank.
