Nathan’s defence has improved, which I think gives Tago a lot more confidence to do his thing.

They’ve all improved thank god.
Agree with Nathan for sure. Was such a gun defender when he started but he lapsed in the area while the rest of his game grew.

Tago’s kick chase on the right is very good. He times his tackles perfectly and rarely misses. The WT kick returns were much more effective whilst he was off for the HIA.

Shoulder injuries will do that, takes time to get the confidence back.

players aren't robots either sometimes coming back from injury takes time. Also building new partnerships in the team look at how Blaize continues to improve. His defense and confidence between him Tago, Mclean, Milky is building.. none of this happens overnight.

McLean was great in defence when he was in first grade last year. When he started this year he looked like he had lost confidence and his defence was very ordinary. Ivan obviously agreed because he was dropped and it wasn't like there was anybody setting the world on fire to replace him. Since he has come back, he looks a good defender again. Still can't pass, but I'll take strong defence on the edges every day over good passing and poor defence. If he can maintain that, it will go along way to keeping our defence back near the top of the NRL.

I don't agree with those who say our middles were poor this year. I would say they were average to good. The run metres and field position support this. The trouble is, the edges have leaked so badly the forwards get run off their feet. Add in the free metres given away for ill discipline and it makes us look terrible in the middle. FFS no more penalties or suspensions please!

Funnily we all agree on that.

I dont. He could and should be a gun but he hasnt been performing like one for quite a while. Watch him tear teams apart in 2023 and watch him now and there is no argument to suggest he is better now then he was 2 year ago, Remember that storm performance? and the games he just ran wild over best and staggs? He hasnt had a game close to that this year and off top of my head i dont think he had one last year either, and since then his defensive issues have become a thing.

His form this season has improved since that benching, he has a long way to go before he is matching his best form, a long way.

That's what I mean. He is a gun he juat doesn't play like he believes it.
