I think it's more a case of while Paulo's on the field (at the start and end of games) we expect to score a couple of tries and while he's not (in the 10-15 minutes either side of half time) we don't. Also we want to dominate possession at least partly because we don't want to give the opposition too many opportunities to exploit our defensive weaknesses.
