There are some interest questions ive been thinking about lately with some of our young guys stepping up. Of course recency bias is a thing, but i think that is somewhat offset by the multiple premiership shine some of the guys have in our minds. That being said, how do you think the following players compare at the same age.

Luron and Spence at Lurons age.
Casey and critta "
Blaize and Luai"
Milky and Inglis'

Casey absolutely has as much potential as Critta it'll just be how hard he works to reach it. He's big, fast and clearly got a some intelligence and work ethic based on how hes been so far.

All fair comparisons other than milky and inglis hahah.. inglis was a freak from 16yo. He was destroying qld cup as a 16/17yo. And was a star in the nrl basically from the get go. He made origin in his 2nd year in the nrl..

Milky is playing out of his skin atm but comparing him to inglis is crazy.

I'd take Spencer and Critta at the same point without hesitation. I'd be keen to revist in another 12 months though. Casey will need a fair body of work by then, but he has it in him. Luron may not end up as explosive as Spencer, but thats ok, he has plenty to offer there and I think a few attributes Spencer doesn't.

Blaize and Luai is a tough one. I think Blaize has a slightly higher ceiling potentially, but a lot has to go right to reach it.

Milky over GI? Not sure why that is even a question, Milky all day and twice on game day.

Casey over Crichton at this age I think. Casey shows a bit more in attack. But Crichton's rise will be hard to replicate.

Luai over Blaize. Better kicker Luai and a good step. Its Blaize's hands that are the threat.

GI had the build. But not many have Jenkins smarts and heart. Guy is close to the form player of the competition right now.

I think Luron has done enough for me to say id keep him. He isnt as much of the wrecking ball spencer is but he is a wrecking ball and he is far more mobile if you consider lateral movement and footwork, and i havent checked this but Ivan seems to trust him with more minutes at this age then spence because he appears to have a good motor and he is a more reliable defender, spence lateral movement can be exploited and his fitness. I think he projects to be a better overall prop.

That was the best ball catching game from our backs in recent memory, maybe since the Rooney/Lewis days. Flawless with a degree of difficulty of nine.

Pretty much exactly how I see it. Spencer is exciting to watch when he comes on with a massive charge, but Luron has more to his game.

I think a few games this year Spencer may have provided what we needed to get a win. He is a luxury though. Thats why I'd revisit in 12 months, by then Luron may have developed into a better all rounder that plays more quality minutes. But right now I'd take Spencer and lose the 14 that gets little to no minutes and use Spencer for 10 to 15 minutes of carnage in that spot.

just proves Refs were favoured alot last night

re: Luron - he's the one to keep long term - may not have the impact hitups like spencer- but has a great offload and seems to change momentum our way - already defensively better than spencer as well IMO

one that will shine in this team for years to come

Yeah im big on Luron to. He seems to play with a fish/moses mindset but he is a better go forward prop then either of them at the same stage. If he can keep building his motor I think he can be a great starting prop for us.
