When Purtell starts in the backrow in a knock-out semi then we can confirm that.
I am still suffering PTSD from that selection. What a time for both Pritchard and Lewie to get injured....

Is he fit enough though? He seemed way off the pace against the dogs. You lose a lot of fitness sitting on the sidelines with minimal miles being put into the legs, even if it was a clavicle injury. Unless we just give him a 10-15 stint in total and tell him that’s all he gets so rip in.That's why we need to "risk" Patea over Huth
10mins ripping in from him offers more than 30-40mins of Huth. I know Ivan is really conservative but now isn't the time, we aren't as strong as we were.Is he fit enough though? The horrors from that game…imagine finishing 2nd on the ladder and being the best attacking side through the regular season albeit scoring off kicks more frequently than any team (before or since) and then being bounced in consecutive weeks. One of the most dumbfounding seasons in recent memory. Not only for our finals performances but due to constantly not realising if it was Nathan Smith or Luke Lewis involved in the play until a jersey number or extreme close up was available…It was the whole season for me. Never felt comfortable watching that team.
Just looked at the 17. Our back row was Nathan Smith, Purtell and Lewis. So it was Waterhouse and Pritchard that went down.
We had Gavin Cooper on the bench? Based on the previous matches it looks like Cooper was only playing from the bench. Elliott actually named Cooper to start then pulled a swifty and threw in Purtell. Brian Smith never saw it coming and no one else did either.

The crazy part is, if Flash nails the sideline conversion v Canberra, ties the game up and we sneak through in GP. Get a week off, get Pritchard and Lewie back (maybe), Elliott could have gotten a shot at a prelim with a well rested squad. We absolutely butchered that opportunity. I doubt we were getting near the Dragons at any point, but how different things could have been.I am still suffering PTSD from that selection. Spurts being on the scoresheet there is brutal. It was the whole season for me. Never felt comfortable watching that team.

He was in a reserve grade pack against a first grade pack. Our forwards overall were never really on the front foot against the dogs.PATEA I love but he was so poor last wk v Dogs.
You’re right, he can probably be forgiven for his game against the Dogs. I was hoping to see a bit more from him but It was tough going. He was in a reserve grade pack against a first grade pack. Our forwards overall were never really on the front foot against the dogs.
Patea's first start in the NRL. He probably isn't used to the pace of the opening 20. Plus he had to play 2 stints. As opposed to his usual 1 off bench, where he leaves nothing in the tank.
Very similar to Spencer, run him off the bench he is an absolute machine, run him in the starting side and he's gassed before the ball is kicked off.
After a very average Easts side put 40 points on them in about 30mins Bellamy needed everyone on deckEntertaining game night. But a bruising encounter. Jerome Hughes looks stuffed and for what? They've given the Dogs their best chance at winning in Melbourne.
I'm not expecting that kind of performance on Saturday. Its a pointless game in many respects. Key players don't need to play 80 minutes.
Sorro needs to behave. His rap sheet is bad this year and another high tackle will have him sit out the finals.

Different teams need different things. Dogs for example like Melbourne need game timeFor what exactly? Feels? They had nothing to gain. Ivan would have rested them.
I do think talk of their demise is vastly overrated. But Hughes now injured changes things. They won't win a premiership without him.

He's not the great coach most think. He's a cheat, he's NSW worst ever, he's reduced the current side to bomb and hope.Dogs have butchered their team selections. No amount of time will fix that. Maybe a pre-season and they'll make changes again probably.
Storm just beat a stack of top 8 sides. Roosters, Panthers, Bulldogs and Broncos all accounted for. Almost as if that didn't happen.
One bad half of football (Half, not the full 80) against the Roosters who had to win and win big to hold off the Dolphins. While resting 6 players + no halfback and suddenly they need to go full strength in the final round in a match that won't change their ladder position?
It was ego from Bellamy. The Hughes injury catastrophic. Genuine blunder from the coach.
Bellyache won most of his premierships through salary cap cheating and wrestling tactics designed to slow the ruck and deliberately injure players. He's not the great coach most think. He's a cheat, he's NSW worst ever, he's reduced the current side to bomb and hope.
Cam Smith was the genius not Craig
