On the Oates likely compound fracture injury, and because I'm a nerd. A squeamish nerd.

Your femur can withstand over 2000 pounds of force, which is a US retread units ton. It also protects the femoral artery which is about 5cm from where that bone poked out of Oates thigh. Roughly. If that bone shard that stuck out of his thigh punctures that artery, he bleeds out on national TV, no joke.

What a f**king horrible and ludicrous injury. Genuinely could end his career the poor prick. Here's hoping it won't.

I saw a guy do it in the surf at Padang Padang in Bali. It was horrible. Had guys assist him with the 150m paddle in. They then had to stretcher him up about 100 tight winding stairs through a cliff face on a surfboard to get him to the road.No pain relief either. Worst injury I’ve ever witnessed.

The last four weeks was the Donkeys softest month as far as the draw goes, and they ended up 1 and 3,

Their next four are The Storm, Sharks, Bunnies, Raiders.

The four after that are , Dragons , Roosters , Penrith, Titans.

Anyone game to tip them even beating the Titans on last nights performance?

NRL site reporting Oates could be back in 3 weeks time.

Yeah, been cleared of a compound fracture apparently. Gone from being a poor prick to a lucky prick in the space of a few hours.

I mean it was clearly way more than a big bruise even without the break. It looked very much like a compound fracture on TV. Obvs hard to say what the doc saw, but Oates looked like he was freaking the f**k out so that wouldn't have helped an on-site diagnosis

The Titans are only 2 differential points behind the Broncos at the moment, so there isn’t much between the two sides. Both thankfully have a good 4 point buffer over the Dogs in last place. Although if the Dogs can pull off a decent month of footy at the end of the year, which they tend to do often, the Broncos are a real chance of finishing last.
Which would be disappointing to me because I’d like to see the Dogs with the spoon...but it would still be pretty funny to see the Broncos there.
