So Marata is most likely replacement next week if Waqa suspended, then Oldfeld next cab off the rank.
In terms of wingers we have Dunster who we have seen play and is no better than Fergo or Sivo.

When the game gets tight BA does not trust his bench. It's been happening for at least 3 years. Sadly flashes of 2020s fade out seem a possibility. Our players looked gassed. Start the year pumped then the nature of the physical game plan and long minutes for our middle starters takes a toll. I certainly hope not. Paulo looks a different player to the one that started the season. Huge minutes again yesterday.
Walking from the car park yesterday I followed Kidwell. I said to a companion, slightly above conversation level and for Kidwells benefit, "gee I hope we tackle today". I got a half turn then he walked on. Next time heed my warning Defence Coach.

I can’t see Junior being picked for Origin at this stage. I think RCG deserves to but he’ll probably be seen as to similar to the guys who are going to get picked regardless of form.
Junior for the past month has been too step and pass happy for mine. I love that he can but his first thought should be to run straight.
I can’t see Nrown getting picked ahead of Jrbdbhcurbevic or Yeo.
Matterson is too hot and cold at the moment. And he is a part of our right side issues.
As much as Fittler picked his name from ether, Lane is zero chance.
Gutho will be picked as 18th man and you’d have to assume won’t be required to miss any of our games.
That means the only player we will possibly have in Origin is Rheed. But Queensland could also easily go Grant & Hunt, or Hunt & Turpin

Yes, Waqa probably deserves a game or two with Brown. What I don't understand, 5though, is so many people wanting Marata to go back into the forwards when he comes back from suspension. Our forwards are going great, and we don't urgently need Marata there this year. With D. Brown and Marata in the centres, our right edge was very solid. (I also think Marata's attacking game is better than Waqa's at this stage. Sure, Waqa's good under the attacking bomb - but Matterson can do that.) I just don't think it's worth the risk of having Waqa in the team. Come the finals, he's the guy who can lose it for us.

I'm not a massive fan of Waqa Blake, but a few tries that were scored down that side were not his fault; Garrick's try in the second half, for instance. Blake stayed on his man, but Ferguson inexplicably came infield.

Ferguson comes in field because he doesn't trust Waqa to make an effective tackle.

I'd like to see a few tweaks.
Oldfield to centre to replace Waqa. Oldfield is also very quick. He will bring pace to the team which is sorely lacking. Surely he cant be worse than Waqa
Then Lane back to edge starting.
Bench which will then provide plenty of grunt to look like this:
Kaufusi
Papali'i
Marata
Carty
Alternatively Marata to starting centre and Greig or Hipgrave on the bench..

See, this is what I don't get. Why replace Waqa with someone ( e.g: Oldfield) who ""surely can't be worse than Waqa", when we already have someone (Marata) who has been fantastic in the position? Sure, Marata would be great as part of a bench forward rotation - but we don't need him there as much as we need him at centre. For me, it's a no-brainer.
