Dangerous in broken play - Tick. His greatest asset.
Ability under the high ball - F*ckn' woeful. Just what's needed from a fullback.
Defence positioning - Even more woeful.
Outright defence - Poor. for a fullback anyway.
Bringing the ball back after kicks - Sometimes.

As i stated , it’s been obvious as even junior league coaches can’t believe how we line up and space and defend. Poorly coached and understood, about time it was called out for what it is by someone that is respected.

you still don't get the fact that if Blake was not such a poor defender, we wouldn't have had to make any changes in the first place

The change only proved that Blake isn't good enough to babysit Jake Arthur. By the looks of things Opacic wasn't either. Luckily next week nobody will have to.

How about dropping a player or two and putting the rest on notice. Fergo and sivo should of been dropped last season but weren’t. Maybe we should persist going the rest of the season with fragile

Our defensive record was good last season with Ferguson and Sivo, and it is good again this year. But if we dropped them our attack would be worse. It's all about getting the balance right.

After seeing Murray not getting suspended, which is appalling given what we've seen recently, then I'm not surprised Brown is cleared to play.

The question is whether he'll play against the Knights.

I'd say the MRC went easy on every merkin this week so Origin wouldn't look like a City/Country match.

Is he a good judge of how to fix a defence or is he all criticism with no solution, like the rest of you merkins? For the second year in a row our defence is top four. Two bad games and you've got the razor blades out. Souths have conceded 50 twice this year. Does Bennett also have no idea? Not every team can have strong defenders at every position. There aren't enough to go around.

I think against weaker teams we can dominate possession and so we don’t get tested out defensively but when it’s a contest the stronger teams are able to exploit the right edge pretty easily. For that reason I think the points conceded stat doesn’t tell the whole story.
