Cleary showed why he is the premier halfback.
Moses can't do that week in week out.

And if we don't get a experienced 6, Moses needs to handle the ball more like Cleary does next year

Feel like the wind was knocked out of our sails with that awful Brown kick on the last in their 20 that went straight to Cleary. Poor option, poor kick chase, and we had nothing left in the tank afterwards.

Disappointing result but some promising signs. Iongi is still a bit inconsistent but he’s coming along. I remain not a fan of Kautoga.
I reckon it was Cleary's 40/20.

I like Brown but it has always amazed me that his 5th tackle kick options have always been chips, rather than a higher bomb. His kicks NEVER give our attackers enough time to challenge. It frustrates me that he has never learnt from it.

Cleary can stay busy because he's big and strong. He can keep going to the line and if the play isn't on, he can dummy and dig in. There's a good chance he will play the ball quickly.

Unless Moses is one-on-one with a forward, he probably shouldn't run, which means most times he gets the ball he needs to get rid of it. That increases the risk of a bad pass and a turnover.

Moses shouldn't be out of position or caught on the 5th for that to occur. Like you said, we know his kicking game is not the best. I'd rather he run it and chance his hand if that happens

We were good. We are improving. That’s all that could be asked for this year and probably next year too.
For us, improving is winning right now.

Turning point was when ref gave 6 again when ado Carr made a good grassing tackle then Casey Mcclean puts a flukey kick in for Jenkins to score

After the game, I thought just too classy, with their 3 origin players (Cleary, Edwards and Yeo), then thought na shit they have 4 (Teo), and couple mins later went f**k they have 5 (Martin)......Class got us tonight! But we did good....

Some very pleasing signs in this game. Last 2 wins were against an understrength Manly and a Knights team that are not performing well. Today we played the 4 x premiers and nearly got the result.

Major improvement in our defensive resolve. No soft tries scored - we made them earn the 3 they got.

There has been very pleasing signs for weeks now. Not just today. I and many others have been saying this.
Don't downplay our performance against Manly last week. We were understrength as well.
Today's "4 times Premiers" were last on the table and have been generally shite this season. The Panthers just decided that today they were going to put in their best performance of their season defensively and be more disciplined.
Our defensive resolve was far better last week tbh. IMO.

We are most certainly though, a far better unit and playing consistently better RL than I have seen for years.
We are a work in progress, and the signs are very positive.
I absolutely love how within months, Ryles has reformed this team to looking like a genuine NRL team, rather than a bunch of chumps.
