This is getting quite silly.

Yes we are struggling at the moment. Yesterday improved our situation somewhat. This weekend will hopefully do the same.

The player you're highlighting Smith had a good game yesterday according to what I saw on telly, and the stats shown by NRL.com

You obviously disagree. So I'll let you get out the voodoo doll and sharpen the pins ready for an attack.

Good f**k off then

I know you are taking the piss but you could seriously say this about most of our performances this year. Yeah Ivans done great the previous 4 years, right now he is fighting to avoid a spoon not win a premiership, obviously he is making mistakes cause there is no logic to a team with 5 origin players, plus Moses and a few other really good players heading into round 13 in last spot.

Besides team selections we are starting every game poorly. Almost always conceding first points. Our discipline is terrible and there has been no accountability. Again this week, penalty, six again, concede first try. Its automatic for us, its like we are trying to concede first points. How has none of that been addressed this year.
Maybe I am "taking the piss" but lets be honest now

For five years every team has lifted when they play the Panthers.

For five years now we have lost 2 or 3 FG quality players to the salary cap.

The last three years the Ball and Flegg players have been getting pilfered by the clubs that just have to have OUR juniors because they can't get their hands on our FG standard players because they're locked up.

The end result, the cupboard is getting bare. We've also had the luxury of blooding players because we were littered with quality but that can't be realistically done anymore.

We're playing the hand we've been left with and it's not the same as we are used to. Plus, 9 out of 10 referees are more critical of us than other teams because of our success, so now every game is a struggle like a final.

The club will survive, we're in good hands.

f**k me dead get me a violin. All our juniors got stolen, evey team tries to beat us! can you imagine the opposition trying to beat us, how can Ivan coach under those conditions. lol !

Those are reasons we might have come back to the pack sure. Not reasons for us being so shit that we were last after half the season.

The players we still have are almost all, to a man, playing well below their best. I dont expect us to be the same side as the last four years, of course we wont be. But i expect the players we still have to turn up and play soomewhere near their best mot of the time, and that is not happening.

As a whole the team is not playing to their potential, maybe 1 game this year you can say we turned up for the full 80.

We arent a worn down, pilfered team who are trying hard but just arent good enough. We are a team that is consistently, for half a season, performing well below our best.

So Ivan is the GOAT coach but can't handle some roster changes even though storm can for 20 years due to our voodoo dolls?

There is no logic here. What we have is some fans who will give the team/club /coach a pass mark no matter what we do this year based on the last four years, and then some fans who wont do that and will judge each year on its merits alone.

I'm not saying Ivan can't coach or that I'd do better but this years ladder position is 100% due to the players not being motivated.

I know I can't be blunt and it sets people off and some see a criticism of the club as if you're a blasphemer in a religion

And ill disciplined. Ive said this about 5 times today but someone really needs to check exactly how many of our games have begun with us conceding a penalty to get opp out of their end, then a set restart to make sure they really have a good crack at our line, then we concede a try. Its happening every week, it has happened our last two wins as well as all the loses.

I am someone who backed him to the hilt, basically called him the GOAT last year myself, but this year Ivan has struggled for answers big time.

There is criticism and there is continual carry on complete with garlic voodoo dolls and large pins........

I've been critical myself of how the team has played on occasions this year. I mean seriously who hasn't.......I thought the bench was 'interesting' for Sunday's game, and I hope I don't see it again this season. That being said. THE TEAM WON. Surely that counts for something.

I find it fascinating that the writers who were dead against the origin players backing up.....are the harshest critics about Sunday's game. Do you honestly think we would have won without on Sunday........because of the excellent post that West Nowra Panther wrote. The cupboard is looking a little bare, because of leeching clubs who refuse to develop their own juniors.

Betcats.....are far as f**kING OFF.....I don't think so. That was such a kind offer....But I will resist the urge if it's all the same to you.

Bellamy is very consistent but not 4 premierships in a row consistent. He should be taking notes from Ivan tbh.

In the minority I know but this season is far from over. Last 4-5 weeks has seen an upward trend in form. We've got the squad to go on a run.

And most importantly, there really isn't a side in the competition who is putting their hand up to win it right now. I'm yet to see a team to fear.

I'll change my tune when we are mathematically out of contention for the 8, suffer major injuries to key stars or another team really shows up and puts their stamp on the 2025 season.

Pretty much this. I'm no Nostradamus but I called it as soon as we gave away the first penalty. The bit I got wrong was penalty, restart, restart, try. Instead it was penalty, penalty, restart try. I'm pretty confident I wasn't the only one that posts here that thought exactly the same thing before it unfolded.

The thing that pisses me off is in most cases there is no need for the hold down, off side or whatever. When the Roosters used to hand out penalties like lollies a few years ago it was tactical. With us at the moment is just retread boneheaded ill discipline. It's also usually the same culprits every time., and early in the game where fatigue isn't an excuse.

Ivan mentioned in his presser how lately we have been conceding the first try. He 1/2 laughed but I'm sure he wasn't happy about it.

The players backing up is a huge risk which Ivan himself acknowledged. We've lost players in the past from it including Nathan. It's not unreasonable to be weary of it.

There's a reaction to the bench this game because Laurie has been really really bad and Hassett was good on debut. People get upset we lose young players to other clubs but here's an opportunity to show a kid he has a place.

The game itself was brilliant. Watched it a second time today. Cleary looks beast mode but not much to elaborate on.

Not trying to argue we've been great, but if Drinkwater misses a sideline conversion and Casey passes to Milky, we're 6-5, inside the 8 and the narrative is that we're poised to time our run for a 5 peat. We're weaker than we have been these past few years but the table is incredibly tight and we still have the biggest game players going around. If a few more things click for the squad and we have a bit of luck with injuries during origin we're in this comp up to our eyeballs.
The problem is we can pretty much forfeit the Wahs game, and that leaves us 2 losses in the bank. Still got Dogs twice, Raiders, & Storm who are all going to be a challenge. The rest should be very winnable if we are serious and have a dig.

We have the team who can still beat anyone if we play to potential, but that hasn't been the theme so far. We have thrown away too many games we should walked in.

Cop out. Every club goes through this. When has a bellamy team fallen off like this???? Theyve been top four for 25 years.
This Bellamy team annihilates teams that open up for them, but struggle massively when a team doesnt buckle. They'll always be overrated because they look incredible putting 60 on Tigers teams that aren't interested in being there, but even with our problems I'd still back us to cover them in a big match if nothing massive went wrong (ie, their halfback taking out ours).

They win the games they should though, even when they play badly they usually still get a result more often than not. I'll take our 4 in a row over their Bellamy era any day, but it's still hard to take what we have dished up this year.

That was the discussion on one show I watched on u tube re this game. The travelling back from Perth then unto New Zealand is just unmanageable.

Ivan again hinted at that during his presser.

Ivan said they wont be backing up a few weeks ago. Cant see anything changing there and rightly so. Who knows, we might conjure a miracle and win it, but I wouldn't be counting on it. The Origin boys will be watching from the lounge at home.

So Ivan is the GOAT coach but can't handle some roster changes even though storm can for 20 years due to our voodoo dolls?
You mean the Storm who established that 20 years of "success" (ie, one fewer premierships than weve managed this decade) by enacing the largest, most brazen instance of systemic cheating in the history of Australian sport? Or the Storm that has somehow managed to keep their entire all star spine intact across this decade, lost no one from their premiership favorite squad last year while managing to add one of the most hyped props in the game on big money? And all this while remaining firmly in our shadow as the bridesmaids of this decade?

Spare me. Bellamy is no hack but the idea his career doesn't have enormous asterisks next to it is laughable.
