I think this is a statement game for the eels. If we can put it together and go at 90% intensity and see what we have. Honestly worried if we lost this one cause I feel like we will want to put in a big show.
We are just so clunky in attack and nothing smooth. I'd want to see the side starting to gel now. If not I would say finals will be hit and miss.
There where signs last week we wanted to spread it but we did not mix it up and go the middle enough. Seems a confused football side at the moment.

Last week Moses wasn't taking the space that was being offered by the opposition. He had a couple of glaring situations in particular in the first half when the defense out wide was shot and the space was in front of him to take, draw and pass out to support runners and instead he received the ball and quickly shoveled it out, which meant that the defense then didn't get drawn and committed so they just simply adjusted and slid across and made the tackles on our players. They were 2 very likely scoring opportunities gone and missed.

We could have broken their resolve and who knows what might have happened after that. Instead it ended up a slog fest because we had no idea as to how to attack almost as much as the Storm did last week.

Moses isn't thinking straight at the moment at all. Those sorts of scenarios after all the good work has been done on the inside should be bread and butter stuff for a good half. He is stuck right now and doesn't know what type of player to be.

This is what the coaching staff are paid the big bucks to fix.

Read somewhere where he needs to manage his calf issue. That may have played it part with his speed of the mark, or its non existence ?

I was more pissed of when Lane over ran a pass, and DBrown had to slowly run around him, enabling the defence to cover. Had Lane been a few steps back we were 4 on 2, and odds on to score out wide with a couple of passes

Regarding Moses, yep - I posted last week that his calf isn't sorted and it needs close management or he will be gone for the year (if it goes again). Expect him to start doing more, but not necessarily everything we want him to do.

I also thought there were 2 missed opportunities with Fergo not standing deep enough to run onto a pass and/or standing flat-footed. These are the little things spending more time at training will fix - timing and expectation.

Right or left leg MJC? I would have thought it would hamper his kicking regardless. Granted his general kicking last week was the worst id seen from him I though his issue appeared to be accuracy not power? I also think it was mentioned he hasnt kiced a goal from touch since his return from his calf injury notwithstanding games played in the wet.

You would think if Moses is taking shots at goal and kicking in general play then the calf issue isn't hindering him in that aspect. More likely it is for speed off the mark and running.

If it’s lower calf the biggest restriction will be on starting his run and stepping off that foot in certain directions. The funny thing I’ve experienced with those injuries is that you can play through them thinking (probably correctly) you’re making it worse and then suddenly a week or so later it’s better. I reckon he plays tonight managing it, then on restricted training up to next weeks game then if there’s an opportunity and thought that a week off may get it top notch then he doesn’t play next week

They were not the times not to run mate. If you are going to take a risk and run in the game that is when you do it. In other parts of the game he did plenty of running without any real chance of getting any significant result. His calf wasn't in my opinion the reason he passed way to soon. He just made the wrong decisions.
