Jack de Belly to the bench for sure.

He offers nothing in offence and little in defence. It's only been 2 games, but so far he's not been a good signing for mine.
It just goes to show where the game is heading. Playing careers are getting shorter because of the speed of the game. Older merkin players can't keep up, which is a shame - they end up grabbing whatever Aldi deal is on offer in their specials magazine. JNR looks almost done as well. Younger players will ask for more money because their years in the game will increasingly become more limited.

Also takes away teams taking short drop outs and kick offs as rarely do they catch it with both hands. Most bat it back 1 handed.

Moral to the story, stop changing rules, just adjudicate to what the rule book says and stop favouring certain teams and creating grey areas so you can manipulate outcomes. If a team is dumb enough to keep transgressing then keep penalising them.

I’ve gotta say, I was very impressed with the way Coach Ryles answered one question last night in the press conference

Most of the questions early on where about Pezet and how he is as a player and the like they asked JR two questions about it then one to Moses, then another about what Pezet could improve on JR reply with that everyone had stuff that they could work on including Moses and pointed to Mitch.

The follow-up was what are those things Pezet could work on? To which JR replied that’s between me and him.

I watched a replay of the game today as an observer rather than as an Eels supporter. I'm thinking that teams now won't use tactics to prevent a try for too long. They're going to let one in rather than burn up too much juice as far as the 80 minute game plan is concerned. It's all about attack - defence is something a Frenchman sits on.
From the Eels perspective I didn't think that we played that bad as a team. But as JR said in the presser, there's some work to do. The look on his face suggested there was quite a lot of overtime included.

So being 20-6 down early was a tactic of Ryles ?

He does impress me quite a bit - "that's between me, and him," is a perfect response.

Last year's premiers had three blokes on their books aged 35. Two of them were in the top 17.

Anyone else concerned hoe Ionghi was caught out of position at the back on a fair few occasions? Kid needs further specialised coaching.

Anyone watch Jarryd Hayne On that Eels Youtube podcast this last week? I have to say he really broke down some top tactical plays and insights, especially about fullback play. Iongi could do a lot worse than ask the Great one for some advise. I know Hayne can rub some people the wrong way, but footy IQ has never been Haynes problem.

💯 mate.
Last week as well.
Will get better with experience but reality is even as a 10yr old fullback the positioning is drilled into you.
Surprising how many times it has happened...Jarryd needs to coach on the fine art of fullback play

He arrived at Penrith as a five-eighth. That might explain it, although he’s been a fullback for several years now.
