We just can't find a way to score anymore. Every player in scoring position looked out of position. Expecting Mitch to fix this is too hard a call on Mitch as he's an above average halfback at best.
We couldn't score because the defence was too good. The reason the defence was too good was because we didn't build any pressure. Our team is built, since 2019, to wear teams down and wait for the defence to make mistakes. It requires execution and patience.

BA: “effort was good, made dumb plays.” “If we’d scored a try first in the second half it may have been different”

FFS!!! That can’t be BA’s response after every loss. If we keep making dumb plays, then hold the players to account for it and dump them.
He's not telling the media what he's thinking. He's there because he has to be. They get canned answers.

Ummm, it meant they had better players in those positions.
Which was the point of the conversation.
Not necessarily better players, just cheaper. Balancing the cap means being very strategic with your big earners, which included RCG and Blake for them. Who cares if they're not worth what the Panthers paid for them. That's a Penrith problem.

We’ve lost 3 out of our last 4 and are sliding out of contention for a top 4 spot. Maybe they need to get a new perspective.
There is no benefit to finishing top four now. No home advantage, and little chance of beating the Panthers or Storm. We want to sneak into week 3 by beating some nuffy 7/8 placed team and then have some luck in week 2.

And Pou, project players usually don’t play over 120 NRL games.
Not usually, but Cartwright is a special case. Immense talent, but drama follows the guy around, much like Corey Norman.
BA in the pre season was saying that Cartwright would be the buy of the season
Don't trust what coaches say in the media. He might've hoped he would be, and wanted to give Cartwright some encouragement. If he really valued him as a player he would've given him more game time.
yet he has stuck with underperforming or regressing players like Lane and Nathan Brown.

The nepotism and blind loyalty to these players will inevitably cost him his job.
I thought Lane was our best forward tonight.

Or a free shot at the Panthers/Storm and a second bite even after a loss as opposed to having the pressure of elimination from week 1.

Good news is this is easily fixed. F*ck off Arthur. Gutho can go with him. Sivo too. Blake can go. Opacic can stay as a back up. Brown can move to centre or f*ck off. Paulo needs to be better. Not that his bad but he played way better in origin. Defensive coach can f*ck off and the attack coach can go with him. They need to learn better shape and structure in the opposition 20. J Arthur can hang around and develop, maybe one day he will be a decent back up half but he isn’t even close yet. Anyone I haven’t named could possibly be f*cked off too. See? Easy fixed.
Spoken like a man who has a healthy head of hair.

Without Moses' kicking game we couldn't build any pressure. It was only the second time this year we kicked dead more times than we forced drop outs. The first was against St George.
The stats are interesting on this one. So many more passes by us and really we made so many more metres. And I think less errors. I'd say it was the Parraball that got us into position to put pressure on. We just f**ked it up after that. And just looking at it, half a dozen times we passed it after the opposition kick when previously we'd have gone to ground, and it contributed greatly to getting us out of trouble and on the front foot. I want to see more of that. When Moses is back we might nail the other stuff.

BA had a brain fart in his selections and tactics tonight. He is the one without any skill. He is a one dimensional B grade coach who will be sacked before next season.
We tried to spice it up and shift the ball but the players weren't up to it. BA should have known better.

Is he giving them too much freedom to play what they see?
Based on tonight's effort you'd say yes but I'd be able to answer more definitively if we had a larger sample size.

We've been poor the last couple of weeks playing conservatively (Canberra) and taking risks (Rooters). No game plan will save us if our players don't pull their fingers out.

Pigs fu*ken ass it is.
Who was that well known coach when confronted with the statement "its not like its life or death" responded with " no its much more important than that". I wonder if that merkin is contracted for next year.
BA said that.

shut up. This is the bloke that said “Arthur is the perfect halfback” you don’t know what you’re talking about.
