Don't rate Flanagan. He had an open cheque book at the sharks for years and could buy whoever he wanted. He's roster was so out of whack while he was there and was so exposed when he left. Wayne maybe but I don't think he'd take us on. Other than Wayne who out there now could take this side to the next step?
Flanagan won a comp, he beat the Storm with the big 3. He took over from Stuart when they were running stone motherless last. Our roster is pretty strong so all the heavy lifting is done. He’s proven he get a side into the finals and actually be a threat.

Hell I’d be happier to give Carr the reigns for next year and go all out for Robbo than another year of Front load ball.

If you are horribly out of form at least do the basics right. Race up quickly, put a chase on the kicks, support ur runners...geeeeez its just fkn embarrassing
This here. Can bitch all you want about BA but this is what he means by front loading and chasing the collision. We look ready for Mad Monday to start

I think BA has lost the players.

They gave it their all their effort and it worked against the bad teams... they get bruised and battered. Then they come up against the good teams and they realise it doesn't work.

They try to put their bodies on the line but they know they are beat.

It's like gallipolli... Running up a mountain to get shot at because the commanders have no idea.

We are finishing where we deserve. Our attack has been
garbage all season - it was always going to haunt us in the big games. I’m still shocked we won a lot of the games we did this year. We seemed to jag a try from a kick or an offload then tackled our arses off.

All our wins have been ugly. I can’t recall a single win this year where we were really impressive. Storm maybe.

Our ball movement along the backline is appalling. Absolutely appalling. I honestly can’t believe how bad it is. Players pass wide when there’s nothing on, hold the ball when there’s an overlap, pass goes forward or the pass goes to ground. Laughable.
Our attack is fine apparently, and teaching the basics is not a coaches job either. No one practices the ball through the hands you just chase collisions while front loading your effort areas.

Gould did make a point. He said that if we played at Bankwest, the support lifts the players. We have always been not so good away from home as compared to at home.

Now we're always not at home.

However, I do think BA's game plans are crap.

It's the same thing over and over. It's not designed for the opposition.

Of course other coaches can just replay the tape and beat us coz we do the same thing.

Flanagan took an absolute bankrupt club without even a gym, used his own money to buy weights and gym equipment, and turned a busted club into a premiership winner with a bunch of has beens, young guns he developed, a very average halfback and some astute buys and defeated a champion team in Melbourne in the GF. He's available now and there's really not many other great options out there.

It's possible. Two weeks in a row we've lacked intensity.
well, the fact last week we just played willie nillie... was it like DA saying do it your way against the Saints in the last game b4 the finals?

It means the players are no longer confident of his game plan

flanagan is a great coach, that’s what happens when you have a disfunctional board/management structure in place.

in the proper structure he will be fine!

but his reputation will put sponsors/board off

Or no longer confident in themselves. We are facing teams packed with stars. We know we're outclassed by Souths/Melbourne/Penrith.

We start the year strong. Players are fresh. Come towards end of season we are bruised and banged up from playing our power game.
In finals we may have enough energy to get one big game. But probably not two. And certainly not 3.
