I am blaming Poupou for how bad Hopgood played.

I didn't like the dropped ball but 40 tackles in 51 minutes again shows why Ryles wants him covering Paulo in defence.

He might only have to make 30 in 50 minutes if he didn’t keep turning over the ball.

Iongi made more metres from where he was sitting in the stand to the dunny and back.

That is correct but Iongi also takes a lot of hit ups in the set (he is bigger).

Anyhow Iongi is the better player and our fullback. But Papalii did pretty good tonight, very safe.

You know what the clear distinction that was the breaking point of the game and separated our chaff from the scum wheat?

It was Jack Williams being exposed again in a simple charge to the line by the opposition forwards one pass out from dummy.

It's a clearly targeted play and I reckon Ryles is up to rectify it.

Iunno ive seen the team able to complete at a much higher rate than we did and also not miss 40 tackles tbh. Our players arent that bad and honestly were better than where we are on the ladder. So thats probably why im expecting more from our squad

Back from the game, the frustration in errors was there for all to see. What is obvious at the game , is the slowing down at the ruck by the Storm, every tackle they stretch the time and Sutton seemed to wave his arms but did little to stem it.

How in a game like that , when the Storm deliberately slows the ruck that Parra got not one 6 again, and Harry Grant is the new Cam Smith with his effort to be in the refs ear bascially all game.

Sutton seemed not keen to penalise the Storms tactics and played into their hands. What the Eels needed was Moses to orchestrate more when we had possession in the red zone. Footy Dean is a place holder and a more explosive 6 who is more a run first player would enable Mitch to possibly do more.

Anyway, disappointed is more the feeling and it’s obvious we need a couple of reinforcements ahead of next season, where they come from I guess is the question, but it’s a definite need.

I think this game will be one of the hardest for the fans to summarise: here we are without pretty much anyone who finished the year in 2024, and half the team who started in 2025, all the big names gone, even standing out our NZed 5/8 who refused to go to Knights to stay with us, losing by only one try from a clear knock on that the refs gave to Scum because the NRL needs a a Melbourne team to make the game national and compete for vital TV rights.

Every fan has a name on the chopping block for the loss yet every fan would happily take the odds for 6+ loss against Scum after the start we had.

Who to blame for this staggering turn around in our fortunes?

Pezet would be a good get for 5/8...
Him,Talakai, Fifita, Mooney, Averillo and Khan Pereira
One can only dream but these guys would add to our team.
I am hopeful we will get 4 or 5 signings

Max we can get is 4 we have 26 spots filled and that’s if Hands and Matto get a job elsewhere next year

I like Williams but he needs to sort out the errors. Plays good for 95% of the game and then has his customary dropped ball and poor defensive effort every single game.
Not sure there’s a solve with the dropped balls, he was the same at the sharks. Might be worth getting his eyes checked because a lot of them are regulation catches

And because of his shit goal kicking he lost game 2 for us. He lost a few for us this season with the same technique. He would not be kicking next season if it was up to me.

Averillo is who we should target at 6. Strong running game, good foil for Moses. And if our SG ball 6 develops he can push out to the centres.
I’d take a punt on Fifita as well. If (big if) we got him playing at his best it would completely change the team
