Please explain to me how they were outsmarted, happy to be educated!!

what I saw was south’s play exactly like they normally do (lots of energy, cook/Murray dangerous in the middle, seeping plays and Mitchell x factor) and have done previously against us (however happy to be corrected)……

And us start slow, with no energy and losing the middle like we usually do every 3 or so week..

Looking forward to the lesson….

souths attacked our edge and we had nothing. Ba couldn’t and can’t fix the edge.

they shut down our offloads until we decided to play parra ball in the end.

They shut down our middle. Paulo didn’t make many metres. They knew he’s the key for us.

BA outsmarted himself. He gave the keys to ja in the first half and he’s clearly not up to it. Some silly kicks resulting in 7 tackle sets. When brown took more control in the 2nd half we looked a little more dangerous.

We will fall into the 8 I reckon. If the Dogs beat us however it might get interesting. Questioning can Canberr win out?

To me that isn’t being outsmart, we knew exactly what they wouId do….

for me being outsmart is doing something different which isn’t expected….like the 1998 semi against the broncos where we out classed but Smith had us kicking for touch every set to slow down the game and stop the broncos attack….
We’ll have to disagree on that. If a team constantly has a gameplan that not only beats you, but thumps you, there is a clear difference in tactical nous.

billy slater on the post match just described the way parramatta uses the ball as:

Stale, old school, forwards orientated and an in ability to know when to use and promote the footy. Used Lanes line break as a example of when parra had to use the footy and instead just went back to one out running and getting to our kick.

i dont like him cause hes a storm/qld great but hes as sharp as they come.
