Rd22: Parra v South’s GAME DAY THREAD @ Commbank 12/8/22

I've just watched the press conference. It's all shit that we've heard before. Neither has a clue of why the team plays like this though, and I suspect neither knows how to change it
Never seen a first grade coach so clueless. Doesn’t have an idea what and how it went wrong. Can’t motivate his team. Worst defence in the top 8. 9 years of this shit.

Last chance Corral for us from now on

Win the next 3 and we should make the top 4 (Dogs, Ponys and Storm), and then shake the comp from there.
As Parra fans that is what we want to happen. We have proven we can perform, just need to get our shit together mentally next 6 weeks, starting from Saturday 20/8. Moses back in a week or two will be a huge.

One more loss and we are curtains for the year IMO ( if we aint already based on inconsistant shit) and most likely wont get past week 1 finals. Would and should be seen as a poor season if that happens.

I get the feeling BA wont be moved on if we limp out this year, just a hunch for a couple of reasons. We would need to pay him out next two years plus we seem to be a club happy with great memberships and financials rather than trying to win an elusive premiership.

Lets hope we pull our finger out and come home with a wet sail. Seems unilkey but never know

souths attacked our edge and we had nothing. Ba couldn’t and can’t fix the edge.

they shut down our offloads until we decided to play parra ball in the end.

They shut down our middle. Paulo didn’t make many metres. They knew he’s the key for us.

BA outsmarted himself. He gave the keys to ja in the first half and he’s clearly not up to it. Some silly kicks resulting in 7 tackle sets. When brown took more control in the 2nd half we looked a little more dangerous.
Yup and south's hid their backup and let the other guns take the reins

Who is more clueless the 9 year coach with no idea or the clowns who keep extending a bloke who is unable to get his side to play well for more than 3 weeks in a row???

The thing that’s frustrating for me is that everyone knew what Souths were going to try and do. This has been going on for the past 3 seasons now. The coach has demonstrated he doesn’t have a solution on how to fix the problem posed by Souths. I remember in 2009 Eric Grothe Jr kept coming off his wing and letting in tries but by the end of the season the coaching staff had found a new defensive structure to minimise that weakness. That’s what good coaches should be doing. To not half an answer after 3 seasons is incredibly disappointing. Making mistakes can be forgiven. It’s when you refuse to learn from them that you have to ask how much more you can take?

billy slater on the post match just described the way parramatta uses the ball as:

Stale, old school, forwards orientated and an in ability to know when to use and promote the footy. Used Lanes line break as a example of when parra had to use the footy and instead just went back to one out running and getting to our kick.

i dont like him cause hes a storm/qld great but hes as sharp as they come.

Yeah - Billy and Cam are the bright spots of 9s commentary team. They know their stuff.

Maybe we should make them both a job offer to coach us for next year??

Hey guys, @Poupou EscobarJust wanted me to let you all know to rest easy and that he and his fellow apologists are running a tad late due to them being delayed at their apologists meeting. They’re just adding the final touches to their excuses for BA. They’ll be with us in a bit.
