Dunno if its been mentioned ... But did anyone see Junior Paulo after the game, precariously balanced on the ledge of the stand, helping 3 fairly sizeable kids over the fence and onto the field.

I was waiting for him to fall off or f**k his back. The first kid wasnt small and they got progressively bigger lol

First time ive been really disappointed with Burton today. His bombs were average, his D mostly garbage, his lack of speed showed up by Moses and his play making pretty average. Im a huge Burton fan but gee he wasnt great today. Too many money matters on his mind me thinks.

Agreed. He was absolutely average today.

Very pleased with the Parra performance today, and will post something more positive about aspects of that later.

But having watched a game at the Stadium (for the first time this year) I was surprised how absolutely diabological the Dogs team really was. Very little talent evident in their defence or attack. Shut down Burton and JAC and that's it... but it was almost a sub-NRL performance across the park by the Dogs, and Ciraldo has his work cut out for him next year.

Wow! How good was Marata? Best performance of the year for him. He owned TPJ. Gee we've missed that from him. Pity he didnt get more minutes. Massive effort.
Moses. Brilliant. Offensively and defensively magnificent. Very, dare I say it, brave performance. Hes absolutely irreplaceable at our club.
Lane simply killed it. Remember those wasted years when someone thought he was a middle? Utter stupidity.

I think they were his kids and friends.

Last kid being his son

I actually mentioned that to others at the club tonight.
Everyone talks about how great Lane was, which he was, but Marata was an absolute workhorse and beast today.
Great decision by BA to start him ahead of Matterson. They both played their roles well.

From the live vantage points...

Pros:
- Something different in the middle, starting Nuikore and having Matterson come on after 20min (less chance of head issues?)
- Forwards building and holding the platform, allowing Moses (and Brown) to get the ball wide for tries to all of our centres and wingers
- Cartwright used in the middle rotation (as mobile lock?) seemed to work ok in the 30min-55min mark - but probably only because the platform had been built and held
- Some of the attacking moves by Moses were a class above what we are left with when he is not there, he and Brown had obviously practised some tricks together this week that would have worked against better teams too
- The left defence held strongly, against everything thrown at it - and I presume the right defence did a good enough job to nullify the Addo-Carr threat
- Good to see all the starting pack get a rest by the end of the match - that's what having a f**king bench is for, and in future weeks we'll be thankful
- It really truned into a training run after the 50min mark, and it was good to see the team try some things in attack and have fun - and still keep the defence solid throughout

Cons:
- Our team really needs to learn what accidental offside (after we touch the ball) is, to avoid stupid penalties giving the opposition a chance to set for another six tackles
- This happened twice that I saw (Mahoney, Lane) on the last tackle, in situations where they had plenty of time to think about whether to touch the ball - and should have stood there and and not something waited for Dogs to claim it and then wrap them up instantly (better than gifting them a kick/extra yards)
- On the Dogs try, Gutherson was already thinking about having a whinge to the ref about the play, rather than committing his body "fullback style" in a 100% attempt to get across to even try and nudge the player away from the acrobatic putdown. It's a bad habit, and not something you see the better fullbacks wasting their time on.
- *Oh, and the f**king short kicks and drop-outs... should have just played the game we were playing by kicking long and dominating, and we might have managed to get over the 50.

But good to rack up some points against some poor opposition, and the confidence boost coming into the final minimum three, and maybe six, games of our season :).
