I think of all our recent final series under BA this is probably the 1st time we can truly believe we are good enough. Not only do we know we can beat the top dogs we are in good form leading in.

Settle down. I mean, I know we easily beat the best team the Dogs could throw at us a couple of weeks ago, but I'm not sure that's a reason to believe we'll win the comp?

I'm surprised how much Melbourne took away from that last 5 minutes.
Surely they aren't that thick?

Munster said it after the game
Bellyache said it in the press conference
They seemed to be talking up their completions in the last 5 minutes and how they scored some points.

Um.... clearly we clocked off and gave up some soft tries

Dogs aren't playing in September irrelevant now.

Could you in the past be confident we would beat Melbourne in a final. I think we all hoped we could but always seemed a bridge too far. I think now we not only know we could beat them but actually expect to beat them.

Penrith haven't blown us away in 3 years since becoming a powerhouse.

When Reed Mahoney has played we havent lost to panthers since 2019 and Dylan Brown wasnt there that day.

When the spine of Gutherson, Brown, Moses and Mahoney have played we have never lost to Penrith.

I could tell at the ground that Storm found some energy at 0-22 and we were celebrating and clock watching. Concerning ? Nah. They needed to score 4 converted tries in 8 mins to bothers us. We had sealed the top 4. Game over.
Fair enough. I still think it's that sort of mindset (celebrating early and clockwatching) plus Drown's silly double movement that @King-Gutho94 referred to that's holding us back from being that elite premiership winning team we all want to be. We just need to keep learning and improving. We had a chance to inflict a bit of long term psychological damage on them last night, a 20+ point win ina top 4 shoot out would have been a statement. It ended 3 tries all with shit goalkicking from them and a couple of penalties sealing it for us. They probably took a a few positives out of both teams finishes....

But a win is a win and we're every chance from here. Bring it on.

Anyone think it is a coincidence that jake has played the last ten minutes at hooker against both the warriors and storm and both times we conceded two late tries in a flurry

his positioning is so poor that it stuffs up the rhythm

Or is it too small a sample size?

for me it’s a massive concern next week and hopefully beyond - he can’t be the back up hooker

It was the last 10 minutes mate. The team clocked off.

Not sure how you can pin that on JA.

Do you have evidence to suggest all tries scored in that time period were directly related to JA being at hooker?

Rheed is responsible for our line speed. We lost that when he went off.

To be fair, it reads a lot like a post any nuthugger around here would post if we lost by 8, 3 tries apiece and Mitchell Moses or Drown missing...

And before you take umbrage, this isn't a shot at you, I'm just pointing out that the eternal optimists among fans at every club are not much different from each other and paint things similarly in the face of a loss like that...

Edit - lol titty twister! Never knew that!!

Maybe it's so the Journo will say we're not gf material. We still have a weak underbelly so keeps us under the radar

If it ended 22 blot , the wraps will be to much
